First time dining here and had a wonderful dining experience. From food to service it was excellent. We love the ribeye and duck. Cocktails were superb!!! Most of all, we had the best server, Isabel. She is very attentive to our needs, very hospitable and knowledgable with their menu. We highly recommend this place to our friends and family!!
Recommended dishes: Cheeseburger, Charcuterie Board, Ovoka Farms Wagyu Ribeye a La Plancha, Rack of Lamb
We had high hopes for this place, given the chef and the high price. But, dinner was just okay, if not disappointing. For the high price point, we expected perfect food and we just didn’t get that. It’s unfortunately a one and done visit for us because the hype and expectations did not match the high price.
We got the Ceasar broccolini salad to start with. It was fine, but not wow your socks off.
For the main course, we got the $65 ribeye and the pork. My husband enjoyed his pork dish, but the only amazing piece of food on my plate was the ribeye. The side broccolini was okay. The fried potatoes were inedible — overcooked, over salted, too greasy, and dry. We were not fans of the bread or bone marrow that came with the ribeye.
Service was good. Husband’s drinks were good. Just had to order everything at once.

Update: Responding to the obtuse message left by someone on hotel staff only adds salt to the wound with certainty these people do not understand the definition of hospitality or how to deliver it. Even at 7-11 getting coffee, I've had more care, concern and common decency, No apology for any of their staff failing to provide me with basic respect as a patron or a hospitable experience or even any attempt to make the horrible experience right or apologize for their faulty apple pay set-up -- while ruining my visit and taking my money. Horrible hospitality. Hoping for a lovely evening out as a solo diner and also wanting a bit of a festive atmosphere to get my mind off matters and feel like I am enjoying the holiday season, I went to the bar for a drink and dinner. Noting that I didn't have my wallet or cash on me, but had my Apple pay, I asked the female bartender right away if they accepted Apple pay. The place lacked a festive, welcoming feeling and having dined there in the past, the food is inconsistent in quality and flavor with small portions for the pricing, I decided to just get my drink and go eat somewhere more pleasuranble. Still having a full drink, I asked the bartender to close me out. The Apple Pay machine only comes out like 8" from the cash register and when she tried it it would not work without face ID or me putting in my passcode, which I could not do without coming around the bar. I offered to do exactly this and the female bartender said it was not allowed and for me to lean as far over the bar as I could to reach the Apple pay machine. Doing so, a male voice loudly said get that woman off my bar now in a nasty way. I looked up to see the male bartender giving me a nasty look and then saying something at my expense to two male patrons that all laughed at me and everyone in the bar area giving me the unpleasant look of judgment. The female bartender did not come to my defense and did not care that the issue of their Apple Pay not being conducive to customers caused me tremendous embarassment and destroyed my intentions and need to have a pleasurable evening. When I asked for an apology, I was treated like I am the problem. The local regulars that were laughing at my expense with the male bartender were excused by the Sales Director/Manager as being local guys that come in all the time. It is shocking to me that being polite to guests and treating people with respect is not a hospitality concern and neither is fixing their Apple Pay machine cord to reach guests or having an iPad. There are many other places to go with staff that are professional, warm, welcoming, friendly, and offer comfortable service without a miserable experience. Go there and skip this place!

I haven’t eaten at Red House Tavern, but I have tried the little coffee shop inside of it! Honestly, wouldn’t have expected this to be something you could stop at to grab your morning cup of joe, but I make it a point to stop here every time I am out that way! Love this little coffee shop! The staff are always super friendly and the coffee is always made perfectly! The atmosphere and vibe of the shop are inviting and nicely dressed up for the winter. I had the pleasure of trying a drink from their winter menu and it did not disappoint! I got the Butterscotch Caramel Oat Macchiato iced and it’s one of my favorite drinks this season! A must try!

The brings elevated fine dining out to the small little town of Haymarket.
Vegetarian options: Not 100% sure I've been here a few times but I think they do have vegetarian options and able to customize and accommodate.
Dietary restrictions: They asked and definitely considered dietary restrictions.
Parking: Free parking at the hotel.
Kid-friendliness: Probably not a bad spot for kids but it is fine dining so they might not be able to get basic things.
Wheelchair accessibility: First floor of the hotel you can easily get to it from the lobby.

Ate here many times however today it was terrible. At lunch they were out of a main entrée. It was over 30 minutes after ordering that we received our food. French fries were brought to the table several minutes before the rest of the food. Only one server on duty. He stated that there was a party of 25 in one dining area and 10 in another as well as several in the main dining area. The server was doing the best he could. Very poor planning!

Cannot say enough great things about this place. Been here a few times, mainly for special occasion dinners, and every single time it is excellent. The food is consistently excellent. The chef creates some outstanding dishes that you can’t find elsewhere. Service is equally great. Love this place and always look forward to coming back!

This is the second time this happens. We show up because we love the food. However at 5 the place is empty and we are turned away because they are “full” of reservation or so we are told. When I say empty. I mean every table is empty. Not one person there. Once we get turned away I go on line and can book the reservation for 10 minutes later. We are beyond frustrated with the lack of service. Again. Food is amazing and we are long time customers. But the service has continued to decline.

This recent restaurant cuts well above expectation for a chain hotel dining spot. Chef Joel brings his experience as sous-chef from The Inn at Little Washington, while adding his unique creativity here. Their tasty Happy Hour offerings can be an encouraging starting point for newbies. Or just go for it.
My starter faves so far are the plump skinny dipper oysters from Chesapeake and the seeded lavash with preserved lemon that makes even their homemade hummus stand out.
A few of the slightly larger fare I've tried and added to my repeat list include the tuna crudo with lemon, rosemary, and pistachio; and the charred8 octopus with a memorable romescu sauce.
Their emphasis on supporting local products including beer and wine adds another plus for me. All staff I've encountered have been helpful and welcoming.

The food is overpriced to put it mildly. The lamb is especially egregious as it says "rack" of lamb when it was only two medallions of lamb. For $45 that is outrageous. The food was fine. Not amazing, but not offensive (except the lobster custard, that was terrible). Save your money and eat elsewhere.
The service was very attentive, but that didn't help the feeling of being ripped off and let down.

The place was NOT busy.. 10-15 Minutes to acknowledge our presence upon entry. 45-50 Minutes to get our food. Everything was so unbelievably salty we could barely consume it. Not happy at all considering the price of the food.
Our server was nice and that was unfortunately the best part of our experience.
