We came to try a new place, recommended by friends a d this place didn't disappoint. Service was friendly and very fast. The food was delicious, with a great selection of dishes to try and many we are now wanting to go back to try! The fried feta cheese was very good and so was the shnitzel. Music seemed to be regional, which is a great touch! We definitely want to go back and try more wonderful food!

Our meal was outstanding! We ordered the grilled meat platter and everything on it was incredibly flavorful and cooked perfectly. The portion size was generous and great for 2 people to share. The Balkan potatoes (SO GOOD) and bread were the perfect sides. The wine list was very unique, we ordered a bottle of Bull’s Blood red wine and it paired perfectly with the meal. The torte was sold out so we went with the apple roll for dessert, which was warm, crisp, and a great finish to the meal. The food, service, and overall experience were excellent. Highly recommend.

Been coming here for the ćevapi on lepinja for like 10 years. The food is always consistent and top quality; Balkan is one of the only restaurants I’ve been to in Richmond that has never missed the mark. And the staff are super friendly!

A Google search for Armenian food in Richmond led me to Balkan. We were having our son's christening in Richmond but live in Virginia Beach so not familiar with restaurants in the Richmond area. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was so nice and accommodating for our event. Portions were so generous and everything was beyond delicious, truly amazing! The mixed meat platter and potatoes especially! They delivered to the church and were on time, even after we changed the time to 30 mins later because we were running behind. We will definitely come visit inside the restaurant next time in Richmond!!

This restaurant needs to be included in Richmond restaurant week. This is the ONLY place in Richmond you can get delicious balkan potatoes! The chicken kebab is seasoned so well! The sautéed vegtables are the best in Richmond!
