The chai latte and bagel with lox were very good and I loved the environment. I can imagine with their Italian espresso maker they have excellent espresso drinks (which I am about to try on my way out!) Update: espresso is a bit burnt & chocolaty but everything else was tasty. Very enjoyable on our way to the botanic gardens, thank you very much!

The staff were friendly and the location is great. Skip the food if you go. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and the staff shamelessly took out undated Tupperware containers and microwaved everything. The sandwich was mush and had a strange sour smell. I took one bite but couldn't finish.

I come here as often as possible to buy my coffee beans. Extremely fair price, extremely friendly staff happy to have a conversation, and I always end up picking a up drink while I am there. Can't resist!I've tried all of their blends and I am personally a fan of the Ethiopian and house blends because I enjoy light roasts. For a darker roast the Honduran is also great! No bad choices here!

Great spot for a coffee shop. The coffee is good and fairly priced. The food was delicious. The two running the place are very welcoming and friendly and I could tell they care about their guests! Highly recommend this spot.

Cappuccino was good, but sandwiches not appetizing or tasty .Man and woman running shop seemed irritated with each other . Probably will not go back.Sad because Lakeside needs a good place to eat and have cup of whatever. Very disappointing lunch.
Bright Spot really lives up to its name! Stopped in on a rainy day for a hot coffee and a quick bite. We ended up staying for about an hour enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and hospitality. A humongous latte warmed my poor aching soul and a yummy BLT gave me the sustenance I needed to wander around RVA Antiques (They share a parking lot). We even left with some sweet treats that are made in house. I couldn't decide between cranberry or banana bread so naturally I got both. Someone previously mentioned there was no music, that has been remedied. Plants on each table add to the coffeehouse vibe. Lastly, the bathroom is clean and even has a changing table! Moms and coffee lovers alike look no further for your Lakeside caffeination station!

Stumbled upon this coffee shop this morning and am so glad that I did. They have some of the best cold brew I’ve ever had. It truly is a little bright spot in lakeside that is so sweet!
