My wife and I have tried take-out from this place twice and have been disappointed both times. We will not try again.Keeping in mind that I just went inside to order take out, the staff seemed very capable, positive, and hardworking. The decor and general ambiance was fair. The bar area was nice. The big issue is the food. It is quite simply lacking in the flavor department. Also, beware if you order fried plantains. The plantains are NOT sweet. They are dry, tough, mashed/brown, and tasteless. My wife suggested that perhaps they use a different kind of plantain...but I contend that it doesn't matter. It still tasted awful. Why serve them?? Anyways, if you like the soft, yellow, sweet plantains, these are definitely NOT those.

I would go here for the vibes, but not the food. Both times I've been, the food had a distinct lack of seasoning and was pretty dry. Their sparkling limeade is superb, though.

The food was great. I specifically had the Entremes in mind but it wasn't on the menu, luckily it was on.the specials board. (It is basically a salad with a ton of stuff on it, sausage, cheese, ham, asparagus, avocado, cucumber, roasted red pepper, tomato)Service was prompt, at one point when I was moving my empty plate to the edge of the table, a guy literally took it out of my hand while making his rounds, it was rather funny.Atmosphere was fine, just a little loud.
I got a really good chicken and grilled pineapple sandwich.

I grew up with eating authentic Cuban food. This restaurant is not serving the real Cuban cuisine. For example, their black bean soup lacks flavor and tastes like it just came out of a can.. very bland. Second, their Cuban sandwich was not made with the true Cuban bread which really makes it crunchy and crisp white bread. The server misplaced my credit card after I gave it to her to pay bill..unnecessary stress.I don’t recommend the place.
I have been coming to Kuba Kuba Dos for a while - my first time was maybe 2018. I haven’t been in about a year, the vibe and service here - still wonderful. My food wasn’t as flavorful as it used to be. Still serving huge portions which we loveeee and the sauce that comes with the Yucca was delightful! They were super patient answering all the questions my friend had about dietary restrictions, I’ll be back.

Waited an hour and didn’t ever get our food, so we walked out. After 45 min and a complaint, the manager said they were short staffed, but the wait staff didn’t tell anyone that up front, nor did they check on us for over 30 min. It’s one thing to be understaffed, it’s another to not tell the customer that food is taking longer than usual or offer something in compensation.
