This is a restaurant that caters to the Henrico citizens. These citizens' families have lived here since the 1900s If you are new to the area, don't bother. Service is spotty and the food is good but nothing to write home about.

World Famous hot dogs??? The worst hot dog I’ve had in a really long time. Chili was disgusting too. Service was good…wife’s salmon and avocado wrap had no taste.

Stopped here for dinner while visiting Richmond to attend Latin Mass at the FSSP. Melito’s has a welcoming family atmosphere with good American fare affordable priced. Their specialty is Hot Dogs! But we had burgers and those were pretty good. Served on real plates (vs baskets). Frequented by locals - especially seniors, but all ages as well. Pleasant staff/servers and clientele alike! We will definitely return next time we’re in the area.

Thank you for being the most amazing family neighborhood restaurant ever! My dear dear friend has just come to America from Argentina for school and she has never been to the USA before. She said over the last week lunch at Melito's was the best restaurant that we have been to and she was moved by how friendly she was treated. She said it felt like family. I said, "EXACTLY!" The specials today were amazing as always, and oh my God that lobster bisque made me emotional. It was so very good to see everyone and I'm glad you were doing well. First visit. Crowded, noisy. Meatball sub bread was dry and hard. Meatballs overcooked. Fries didn't taste homemade. Five layer chocolate disappointing.
