Two reasons...very good food and better owners. The owner Paul and his wife go out of their way to make you feel welcome. He introduced himself to me the first time I was in his restaurant 15 years ago and he remembered my name and says hello every time.
Recently my wife has been chasing down the causes of her migraines and we think MSG is a trigger. Paul assured us he it would be ok and he was absolutely right. I highly recommend you give it a try...if you're lucky Paul may show you a magic trick.

Pho broth is excellent and in my opinion doesn’t need any hoisin but I do add sriracha/chili oil for heat.
I feel like their banh mi are an absolute hidden gem. The bread is crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside and their fillings are perfectly seasoned, proportioned, and balanced.

This is at least the 20th pho restaurant I’ve eaten at across 5 states and also the most disappointing.
- Food was abismal for the price and portions
- The combination pho and 2 spring rolls came to $30 for lunch for 1 (yes 1) person
- The beef was tough and frankly non existent maybe 3 very thinly sliced pieces of top round which is the cheapest cut
- Very scant on the noodles
- Broth was overly salty
- Made me cough which is due to too much msg to make up for subpar broth
- They charge for condiments like chili oil
- I asked for extra tendon and declined when she said it would be $5 for 3 slices (picture the small puck from air hockey)
- Ambiance was nice, jazz music

Very hospitable staff. The pho was the best I have ever had and I have had pho from many parts of the country. No sauces required to enjoy this richly flavored comforting broth.

This business is runnng on the customers without previous experience on good Vietnameese food. I have tasted a few of them in Richmond following the recommendation from my Vietnameese friends. This is the worst Vietnameese food I have EVER had.
The spring roll was tasteless with chunk of rice noodles and tiniest shrimps. The problem is, I make Vietnamese spring rolls for breakfast and I know how good they can be and I expected more from them.
We had sea food noodles. The server didn’t even know what clear noodles was. A few rubbery shrimp and fewer fish bolls, artificial crabmeat and chunks of rice noodles were floating on the very salty broth. I brought my friend to give her a taste of Vietnameese food and felt ashamed of this restaurant. They are even selling many Chinese items in the name of Vietnameese food. The decor was also not from Vietnam, some random Asian photos are on the wall. Felt very sad of the customers.
