I love black own business, I really do! But when you charge $32 ( which is reasonable) have to do a little better then what I received. Ordered a full rack because honestly didn’t feel like sparking my smoker. Smoke on the ribs was good and flavor was decent… but just DRY! So disappointing! The work I had to do to regenerate moisture in them I may as well had just smoked my own. Now today is Sunday and latter part of the afternoon so maybe I bought the tale end of the days cook. So I will try them one more time next Saturday. Stay tuned for part 2 of this review…. Customer service excellent!!!

I don’t know what was going on today but the food was not hitting at ALL. The ribs were dry as hell. One order of collard greens was hot and nasty, like they just rushed them. The other greens were okay, but nothing special. The fish was actually good, I’ll give credit where it’s due. But that mac & cheese? I’m gonna be real… it had flavor, but it tasted like straight pepper and grease. Like pepper oil with noodles. And don’t let me get started on the potato salad — just no. The crazy part is the food is usually good, that’s why I came back. But today? Nah. Somebody was not in that kitchen doing what they were supposed to do.

Ronnie’s bbq is a quaint roadside stand with picnic tables you can eat on. There are 2 drive thru lines to either order and go or pick up your pre ordered food (done easily on line). It is delicious and the price isn’t bad either! For the family, the pound of vinegar based pulled pork and cole slaw are our favorites. The brisket sandwich with their homemade bbq sauce on the side is to die for! While I’d love to tell you about their other food, we can’t stop eating these 2 things! Their boxed dinners with sides are my go to with cole slaw or potato salad and lord, that apple cobbler and corn bread! The staff are friendly, accommodating, grateful for your visit and very efficient! Just wish I lived closer to go more frequently! Love supporting such a great family run business!

This was my first visit to The Original Ronnie’s BBQ, and I had no idea what to expect; safe to say, I was blown away! I placed my order online, and while it said it would be ready at 1:21, and I arrived at 1:27, I didn’t get my food until 1:55. So yes, I did have to wait… but was it worth it? YES. 1000x yes.

I ordered a feast:
🍗 Sampler box with quarter leg chicken
🥗 Coleslaw
🥔 Potato salad
🥫 Baked beans
🐟 Hush puppies
🌽 Cornbread
🍑 Peach cobbler
🍋 Lemonade poundcake
🥤 Large limeade

Every single bite was on point. I’m not a huge baked beans person, but even I could tell they were really well done. The coleslaw was crunchy and fresh, the potato salad was delicious, and the hush puppies and cornbread were perfect little sides. The peach cobbler was warm and comforting, and the lemonade poundcake? Dense, rich, and a real slice—not one of those flimsy little slivers. And the limeade—OMG. Tart, sweet, and so refreshing. I wanted to take a couple gallons home.

But the real star? The meat. Juicy, flavorful, tender... it didn’t need sauce at all, but the sauce made it even better. The sampler box was a fantastic value for the amount and quality of food.

Bottom line: Yes, there was a wait. But once that first bite hit? I forgot all about the time. Will absolutely be back.
