We stayed here last minute one night. Check in was easy. The lobby was open and clean. Our room was fine and I liked the balcony! There is an indoor pool but no hot tub. The staff was friendly during my stay. The shower was cold is my only complaint. I let it run more than 5 minutes to see if that would help and ended up just having to jump in and shiver. It never got beyond lukewarm. There is no free breakfast but there was complimentary coffee and some nearby breakfast restaurants. It seemed safe to park outside the hotel. Overall a good choice for hotel except the cold shower.

I am a Bonvoy Marriott rewards member and could not believe what I had booked. My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotels last Saturday. Room was crappy with a very small TV. Outdated is an understatement- not to mention the hideous wallpaper. Hotel doesn't offer amenities i.e. pool was blocked off. Gentleman informed me the pool has been out of operation since January. Not pleased at all. We couldn't wait to leave the property the next morning. I will never in my life stay at another Courtyard by Marriott if I can help it. The staff nor corporate doesn't believe in making the customer happy let alone satisfied. Neither would NOT refund any monies whatsoever as I am noticing in other reviews. I agree cordial but would not budge on any compensation. Very disappointing!!!

This place hurts Marriott's reputation. I'm a Platinum Elite rewards member. I've stayed at a LOT of Marriott properties- usually 20+ nights a year. This one is Very outdated and run down. Sat down in the room and a few minutes after arriving a HUGE cockroach started up the wall behind the TV I was watching. I asked for my money back and was ready to leave but was told I couldn't get a refund because I had pre-paid. They put me in another room but it was hard to get that out of my mind! The manager was nice about it- but no offer of points or breakfast or something?! No compensation of any kind for the trouble? Just an apology and a different room? I know that a roach can slip in anywhere eventually in the South - but this was also frayed carpets, and a HARD noisy bed and mold in the bathroom. Then, the next morning I open up the door to the new room's balcony, and...(see picture- that's another roach carcass)- not to mention just the filth in general. This place is nowhere near Marriott standards. I always stay at Marriotts because of the consistency. This one needs some serious updating or does not deserve to be in the Marriott family! Very very disappointing.

The bed was comfy and the gals working the SBX were great but gosh everything else was awful. Right down to the puke orange walls, I was consistently reminded I was paying premium for a disaster. All the appliances in the room made bad noises, you can hear far too well into adjacent rooms, and the staff can't make copies- what hotel doesn't have a copier? This one. And they want you to pay for breakfast too- about double what it's worth.

Mixed review. The good: Clean. Good area. Nice staff. The not so good: AC was noisy - sounded like a bearing was going out on the fan motor. Rm141. Room lighting was a bit dim. Breakfast to order was just OK.

The food is good, the staff is excellent but calling it expensive is an understatement.

The room was dirty and had cockroaches in it. The whole hotel smelled like pot. Very disappointed in Marriott. We didn't stay.

Basic review.Studio room was nice, clean. Bed comfortable. Cost was good. Kitchen area was nice and functional and the room flowed. If I had a studio apartment, I would want a similar layout, honestly.

The best thing about this location is the staff. Everyone we encountered was very friendly, and Gwyn went above and beyond and did an incredible job helping us get our rooms situated when they were messed up due to a miscommunication. The negative is that the rooms are in dire need of an update. At the very least, the mattresses need to be changed out, and the carpets need to be cleaned.

My son, puppy and me spent one night on the way from NYC to Atlanta on 7/30. "Pet friendly" cleaning charge is inconsistent with other Courtyards, $50 in Gastonia, $100 in Richmond. It costs twice as much to clean in Richmond? Really? More like "Pet for Profit" charge. Additionally they don't post the charge, so I was assuming same as G when I booked. My one dog didn't need additional cleaning, I'm sure some do, but we arrived at 11pm and left at 8am. Is there an extra charge for children, they can be a lot messier. Dan

I had a business meeting in the hotel lobby. The space either out well. I did not overnight. The hotel is located outside of Richmond in Henrico. The lot was adequate for parking and I saw no debris. The area is more rural, but there are other businesses nearby by. The area felt safe. The lobby is updated and inviting and worked well for my purpose of a meeting for a few hours on a weekend afternoon. The booth area my party used was comfortable. The staff supplied coffee or tea. I would return to this Courtyard for a meeting or overnight accommodations.

Overall a really nice stay at a fairly new property with young staff, no ding on not giving a 5. Everything felt new and clean, staff friendly and accomodating. We got back early evening after a GREAT dinner at Peter Chang and got a (reasonably priced) glass of wine to sit by pool/fire pit and relax. Wish all quick stays were this nice!
