The chicken tenders are huge but I highly recommend you remove the fascia before batter and frying. It is like a rubber band is fried when you leave that membrane on. Tater tots tasted like old oil and onions were fried with them. I probably will not want to try other food items.

Late night passing through and we saw the good reviews so we decided to stop. This was some of the most flavorful chicken I've ever had. Sauces were great on everything. Fried chicken had the right amount of crunch. Even though I got take-out the inside was clean and staff was nice.

Really hit or miss. First few times I ordered, the food was amazing.
The last 3 times all had the same problem: wings were heavily over-sauced or seasoned, fries were stale, items in take-out bag missing (one time fries were missing, 2nd time side sauce missing). I noticed that going here within an hour of closing had these problems consistently. My good experiences were getting food there early evenings. Since this happened the last 3 times in a row, I can't justify eating there again.

Fiiiirst of all!! I walked in and was looking at the diff flavors and the sweetest human ever immediately offered me the different wing flavors. She gave me one I selected and then based on that heat and flavor offered several others. I ended up going with the anaconda, which she suggested and I likely wouldn’t have tried, and the vamp parm!! Literally every sauce I tried was truly awesome. But being able to sample them was absolutely brilliant!!
They served up the wings either smoked or fried. I chose smoked and they were piping hot when they were given to us. We also got tots that were perfectly crispy. I ended up dipping them in the left over samples of wing sauces!! So flippin good!!!
I seriously can’t go on enough about the sauces and service at cocky rooster! When we left the two folks inside were so incredibly kind and genuinely interested in hearing how our experience was! I will be back for wings again to try other items.
You have to love a place that specializes in one thing. Makes it SUPER simple for my neurodiverse mind and giving samples as options…absolute dream!!
They also have vegan options w cauliflower!! I’ll def try those next time too!!

Wife wanted to slide by the ice cream place and then the Short Pump location here for dinner. Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. I saw the “Red Beard’s Ghost” sauce and was contemplating it on some wings.
The guy at the counter gave me a sample, and it was smooth with just a little heat. Flavorful. The ghost lured me in. I thought, no problem, I can handle this. I was wrong. So wrong.
At home, I bit into a wing and suddenly I wasn’t in my kitchen anymore. I was on the deck of a pirate ship in the middle of a hurricane. My tongue was battling a flaming cutlass, my eyes were crying mutiny, and my soul was begging for mercy. Somewhere in the distance, I swear I heard a pirate laughing.
This sauce didn’t just sneak up on me……it cannonballed into my mouth and raised its flag on my taste buds. Within minutes, I was sweating like I owed Red Beard back taxes in doubloons.
10/10 staff. 10/10 wings. 15/10 chance of seeing visions of pirate ghosts in your living room if you order this sauce. Would recommend… if you’re brave enough.
So glad I had ranch to finish it all of… but now I’m scared of what will follow…dun dun duuun
