They did an absolutely fantastic job on my retirement cake. The custom space design was a hit during the reception. The cake was sooo delicious. Thank goodness I still have some leftover.

This was my first time visiting Amphora Bakery, and my interaction with Maria, the owner, was very pleasant. She is both professional and kind. The atmosphere of the bakery is cozy, and I was impressed by their selection of cakes, which is not commonly found in most bakeries. Amphora Bakery is definitely a gem in the Herndon area. Since my visit, whenever someone in my circle mentions needing a bakery or cake, I always recommend they check out Amphora Bakery.

I used to go to Amphora, Herndon for Lemon Meringue pies. They were great. Something changed (not sure, Chef?, reciper??) but they were not good anymore. I’ve tried a couple times since, but same thing. It has been awhile, so I’m going to go back and try again. But if the pie isn’t wonderful like it used to be, then I hope to find someplace else. The desserts look fantastic, but the taste has been very disappointing.

I visited this location for coffee and to have some retreats. Unfortunately, my experience was negatively impacted by the woman at the counter, who was not welcoming and displayed a disrespectful attitude. This left me and my family feeling very uncomfortable.

This bakery made our daughter’s birthday so easy and special. My daughter wanted a rainbow unicorn theme. They did AMAZING on the cake. Our guests were raving on how good it tasted. I’ve seen others reviews of dry cake but I strongly disagree. Our cake was rich, moist, and a great balance of flavors. Don’t mind the front of the cake I bumped the cake getting it out of the box hence why it’s smudged on the front.

Personally, not for me. We ordered a couple cupcakes, a cookie, and a tiramisu via UberEats. We didn't really like any of them. The tiramisu is made with a dry cake instead of lady fingers. The cookie was a bit dry for me as well. The cupcakes were okay, a bit on the dry side, but I felt like the frosting was really dense and sweet. Based on other reviews, if this is your preference then it seems like a really nice local spot to get desserts from, but personally I don't think I'll order from them again.

The wait in line to get an order in for a baked good seemed a bit long considering it was near noon on a Saturday and not during a rush. The food was stupendous and the selection was awesome.
Amphora Bakery in Herndon, VA, offers a nice selection of pastries, cakes, and desserts in a charming atmosphere. The presentation is great, and the variety is impressive. It’s a good spot for a sweet treat.

Really disappointed with the service and management. I had called the same day to see if a gender reveal cake could be made for me with a short notice. After they had confirmed with a chef that they could do it, I asked over the phone if I needed to pay over the phone. They said they needed to confirm one more thing and would call me back. I never heard back from them but assumed my order had been taken. I called that same day in the evening to say we could pick it up the next day. The woman that answered said that it was fine and didn’t check for me in the system to see if the order had been placed properly. I arrived the next day and was told nothing was made for me and that they attempted to call me back. I showed them my phone records and that I hadn’t received anything. Don’t know why the calls didn’t go through but told them I had called that evening and no one confirmed or checked the status of my order. They said they could now only do cupcakes instead of the original cake and that it would be more than the original quote. I asked if we could stick to the original quote as a mistake had been made and they were adamant that they could not and that they would have to do a full review over time to see if a credit could be given even though I offered to show my phone records and voicemails. I didn’t have a single voicemail or call from them. I wanted to pay but wanted to pay the amount that was originally quoted since this was an item that was different to what I wanted. We ended up not getting anything. making sure employees always check when a customer calls about their order could help avoid future issues.
