We needed a coconut cream pie at the last minute for a party. They were out, but Debbie called us back and said she could take a pie from an order for the next day and make the replacement pie that night. The pie was delicious and the customer service added to the sweetness of the experience!

Overall, good quality, above average customer service ( but not impressive).Price? Higher than grocery store bakeries, almost twice. But, I don't like to buy cakes from Giants, Safeway, or Harris Teeters ( except Whole Foods, which are good), I don't like their style and taste, so to me, it is worth the extra price. They have several types of cookies, cakes, pastries, macaroons, and baklava.Besides, they have frozen-style cakes, ice cream, cold soft drinks, and coffee.Service? Not fast. There are a few tables inside to sit and eat.For the cakes, If you want a cake for a special occasion, I recommend ordering it at least 10 days in advance, unless you choose something from their typical daily basis.Parking? Not good, especially around noon or evening time.Parking: Hard to find a spot around noontime

BLUF: A nice place to sit down for some good chat with your favorite people, but the cakes were nothing special. The ones in the cases looked nice, but the cakes were dry & unremarkable on the inside. The buttercream was kinda blah. Service was 50/50. First staff member looked really annoyed that we were asking questions about the goods & was not at all welcoming nor hospitable. The other who eventually served us was absolutely wonderful & quite the opposite of her co-worker. She seemed like a person who would go out of her way to make sure you left a happy customer. While the cakes, cookies, cupcakes looked appealing & much better than I could ever create, they didn't seem as unique & tasty as you would expect a specialty bakery to push out. The cookies looked like those you could get at a supermarket but more expensive. The lemon blueberry cake that I had was bland, dry, and the buttercream filling was sugared out- gritty, dry, just sugary with weak flavors barely coming through. While it looks like a nice little cafe you'd want to sit & enjoy, they don't sell slices. The small rounds & cupcakes are your best bet, but nothing like tasting an actual slice of their cakes. Based on the small, pricey mini that I chose, I'd not splurge on their full size cakes. As full size cakes go, the price seemed fair, but be aware that your cake may just be so-so. I've enjoyed more delicious cakes from a grocery store & paid less. If you're in the area, need a break, want a cup of java, and have a sweet tooth, it's a decent place to try. If you want stronger coffee, Weird Brothers is across the way. There's also a place next door to grab a bite to eat. Should I ever go back to the Amphora diner, I'd probably have a slice of cake. Why? 'Cause it's just what you do at a diner! Maybe the cakes taste better after indulging in all the salty diner yums, but at this point, I'd find another bakery from which to purchase a specialty cake.

I had an amaZing & smooth experience with the entire Birthday cake ordering process. I ordered online, sent them 4 pics and although it was short notice,(48 hrs prior) they went above n beyond to prepare my cake exactly how I envisioned & in a timely manner. They communicated with me durin the entire process and were professional, friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back for later events.

Lemon blueberry cake and Strawberry shortcake are both amazing!! The cupcakes are a bit dense, the frosting is very dense and too sweet. I had the blueberry cupcake, was hoping it was going to have blueberries in the cup cake, but it did not. The frosting is the blueberry element. Although it didn't taste much like a blue berry. I got both my coworkers the salted caramel cupcakes and they also stated they were overly sweet. After trying the cakes which were airy and flavorful I thought the cupcakes would be as well. Perhaps a blueberry compote piped inside and a lighter style frosting would help. Definitely will kee patronizing them for the cakes!

We've been purchasing baked goods from the Amphora Bakery for the past 3 years. Their baked goods are top quality and their face to face customer service is wonderful. Once an order is placed, there is no doubt that the item will be ready for pickup as promised. We love the Amphora Bakery and recommend it to anyone who is looking for high quality baked goods.

Have always heard of this plzce but never had a chance to go. Their desserts are okay. A bit too sweet for my taste. This place however is decorate in very cute decors and their cakes and cupcakes are decorated so cute as well. Staff were friendly. The creme brulee doesn't have the crunchy sugar on the top and their creme brulee is a bit more cakey than I would like.

Amphora is truly the best bakery in the entire Northern Virginia area. Their cakes are phenomenally decorated and delicious the same. I've had the distinct pleasure of enjoying their outstanding baked goods and food catering service since 1998 without the least disappointment. Amphora's service team is incredibly awesome also. Donna and her team will go above and beyond to create wow factor cakes in both quality and taste that cannot be matched in this area. The owners built a brand that will outlast all others for years to come. Thanks, Amphora, for making my events a huge wow factor success!

I've enjoyed the baked goods from Amphora Bakery for several decades - primarily the location in Vienna, VA that no longer exists. What I just recently discovered - is the Amphora Bakery in Herndon, VA - is and has been the primary baking location all this time (one of the ladies working behind the counter shared that info tidbit with me when I visited). One of the things that is indelibly etched into my brain is their Chocolate-Raspberry cake - which I've not had for decades (my Mom purchased one from them for my birthday one year - and that cake made an impression on me!).They still make Chocolate-Raspberry cakes. I wasn't in the market for a whole cake - but they also make cupcake versions of some of their flavors - so I opted for the Chocolate-Raspberry Cupcake.Of course it was rich and tasty! The Raspberry creme frosting was decadent! One thing I will ding them on - is they only accept cash and traditional credit cards. They do not accept any form of digital payment (Apple Pay for example). I politely advised them while I was paying that they should accept digital payment - pretty sure nothing will change on that front. Not that most people would - but if you did want to consume your baked goods on the premises - there are some tables and chairs available.Service was good.#AmphoraBakery

It is nice to have a local bakery. have bought a couple of cakes from there. Few things; they charge $3 to write Happy birthday on a $40 cake?!?! I swear the BD cards they showcase are from dollar stores, I have noticed it many times. They are selling it for $5 upwards. Lastly, I wanted to order my daughter's first BD cake from them, nothing extragavent, nothing out of the ordinary. just round cake with icing and I was going to put butterflies and flowers on it myself. My husband and I went 2 months in advance, were told to email and go online. Did that, emailed and all and nothing was ordered until 1 month was left, went to the store to place the order again, and were told to go back online and email. Emailed the confirmation cake and was told they are no longer taking orders due to it being a graduation week. I do get that it took me some time to finalize, and that they were very booked. But it was a SIMPLE ROUND CAKE... Now I drive an hour away to a bakery that took care of our last minute request and provided a huge cake for quarter of the price and it was DELICIOUS.

Elicia did an amazing job on our wedding cake! She was so easy to work with, she customized the cake exactly how we asked, and she helped make our special day even more special. The cake was also super delicious and everyone loved it! I highly recommend hiring her to make your wedding cake!

When I looked at it from outside the store, it didn't look much different from a normal bakery, but the moment I went inside, the atmosphere of the store caught my eye! I couldn't take my eyes off the various cake samples and cookies, especially the kitchen behind the store. The spacious kitchen and the staff working on cookies in it gave me a more fresh feeling.
