After hearing numerous ads on the local Indian radio with the catchphrase “chaatwala hai na,” I decided to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. I ordered the Bangalore Masala Dosa — all the chutneys tasted old and seemed to have gone bad. The Chole Bhature was bland with almost no flavor, and the Bhel Puri was served stone cold.
The menu prices also felt at least 30% higher than they should be for a self-serve setup with single-use cups and plates. Portion sizes are quite small, so you’ll likely end up ordering multiple dishes.

On the plus side, the tables were unique, decorated with Hindi movie posters.

I do not plan to return anytime soon.

Great place for chaats and other Indian food. Always strives to provide the best quality and taste. Stuffed chole kulche has been one of our top faves.

The food is certainly not up to par here. Neither was the friendliness of the rather dour uncle (who I assume owns the place). We ordered Masala dosa and the Samosa chat.

The Samosa chat was ok but too heavy and not very flavorful. The Dosa was cooked in Ghee that pooled on the plate. Now it was my fault (I am vegan) for not checking if they made the Dosa in ghee. So I sent it back and got one cooked in oil (they made me pay for the second one). Fine.

But overall both dosas are ridiculously thick (even when I asked them to make them thinner after seeing the first one). Also both dosas had peanut chutney - not a problem for me but I think these guys are setting themselves up for a lawsuit with folks who might have an allergy.

The place is beautifully decorated - great murals, pictures of movie posters on each table. Very nice and vibrant. There is also a small room with games like tablet ennis and chess set up - cool.

Everything I tried was full of fresh flavors and really hit the right spot. The chaat had the perfect mix of sweet, tangy, and spicy all at once, and you can tell the ingredients were fresh.

The staff was friendly and helpful, making it easy to pick what to order if you’re not sure about the menu. The portions were generous and the food came out quickly.

This place is great for a casual bite or a quick lunch that actually tastes great. I’d definitely come back to try more of their dishes next time.

I went there for the first time and what stood out other than the food ( which was good) were the owners and their hospitality!

Food eaten in happy atmosphere and with a happy mind tastes more delicious- which it already was! It didn’t hurt that the price was reasonable too 😊.

Will definitely go there again!

The food was extremely flavorful, especially the Shahi Paneer Chawel and Masala Puri and Gobi Paratha and also Veg Chowmein Chili Gobi finished with some lassi, however the salt lassi could use some improvement. The atmosphere is very good and everything was nice.

We had high hopes from this place, they have very 90s Bollywood decor and very promising street food menu. But all of ours chat items were bland at best, some even stale. It just lacked true taste of chat, no chutney mixed in anything, very disappointing overall, not returning.

We ordered Jain [No onion garlic potato] food, paneer Kathi roll, paneer pagoda, dahi sev puri, paneer paratha, mango lassi and chole bhatura. And everything was really good and tasty. Highly recommended place, will definitely visit again. Paneer paratha was little spicy, but overall tasty good food. And because there was game room kids had lot of fun there.

If you’re looking for authentic street food, Chatwala is the place to be. The Pani Puri was crisp and the flavored water had the perfect spicy-tangy balance. I also tried the Samosa Chaat, which was loaded with flavor and felt very fresh. It’s easily some of the best Indian snack food I’ve had in the area. 5/5 stars!

If you’re looking for a real taste of Mumbai/Delhi street food, this is it. We ordered the Aloo Tikki Chaat and Pav Bhaji, and both were delicious. The portions are generous for the price, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. It’s a cozy spot with a great vibe. Highly recommend!
