Very tasty, authentic Afghan food. I enjoyed a cup of complimentary soup that was phenomenal. Chicken Kebab was very tasty.

I have been coming to Charcoal Kabob for more than 25 years back to the old location on the other side of the plaza.

The family who run this restaurant are courteous, well-mannered, & truly make you feel at home if you give them a chance by returning.

The food quality is always hot, fresh, & a special blend of spices. I appreciate that the flavors are not “overdone” so that you feel the quality of the meat & marinade.

Also, their chickpeas & green chutney - you’ll be having that with naan until your stomach hurts. My personal favorite is the kubideh kabob!

Definitely give them a try & the vibes inside are cozy/classic for a kabob restaurant with some nice artwork & seating. Highly recommend!

The food was good and I would try it again. I had the chapali beef. It was very salty - I was warned that it was spicy, but a lot of the spice was salt. In the crowd of kabob restaurants in the area....this one is ok.

This place has become a scam based business.

This used to be my family’s favorite spot until our experience yesterday…We had been coming here for years, knew the food well and also knew the prices. As usual we called ahead, ordered our 3 main favorite dishes (kabob, kubedah and chicken) and my mother went to go pick it up 20 minutes later. When she went to pay, she was quoted a price much higher than usual. When she asked the lady why the price seemed so high for the same food we had been getting for years, the lady tried to spin some yarn about how now customers had to pay “DOUBLE TAX” on their food because the business had incurred some higher costs recently.

My mother asked for her receipt to see what this “double tax” bs was and the lady DENIED HER REQUEST FOR A RECEIPT!! My mother had a good rapport with her so she decided not to pursue an argument, quietly paid for her food and brought the food home. Once we dug into it, we realized that the quality had dropped drastically as well. The kubadeh tasted very over spiced and extremely dry. The rest of the meals were just as bad, this is because ALL THEIR MEAT IS OLD.
The rest of the meal just got worse and worse from there….I’ll spare the details but I will say we will never eat there again, I would advise the same to anyone reading this review.

I just celebrated eating at Charcoal Kabob for 20 years. This place, owned by four brothers from Afghanistan is the epitome of great taste and super atmosphere. For a special treat, come on Friday for the Biryani!

My family went a month ago and I'm just now getting to a review, but this food is delicious. This was my first experience with afghan food and I got the chicken bowl I don't remember the name exactly but I'll attach a photo. The flavor was mind blowing, I've never had food like this before I completely recommend it to anyone and writing this review has made me crave it. The owners are also very polite and even gave samples.

Had a great experience at this kabab restaurant! We were in town in Reston for the Pearls of the Quran conference and this is the second time we dined at this restaurant. Always delicious and tasty kabobs which are juicy and flavorful, good portion sizes for the cost, fast and friendly service and the employees are so helpful and nice. The atmosphere is clean and nice with beautiful artwork displayed on the walls. I would definitely come here again and I recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. It’d definitely worth it. Come check out Charcoal Kabab! You will not be disappointed.

Parking: Lots of open parking spaces. We had no issues finding parking.

Kid-friendliness: Nice open area and kid friendly the restaurant is also very clean.
