I've been coming here for more than 15yrs(now 30yrs) now. This place is great. Awesome chickpeas, awesome chicken and lamb kebabs, the vegetarian plate is just fantastic. Now they have dough as well to drink.
The two brothers that own the place are always there and always friendly. They have had much the same kitchen staff the entire time I've been going there.
We had an amazing time, me and my mom, as we were ordering the boss and his workers gave us free samples and conplimentary tea for the road. Definitely a Fairfax classic, would recommend to anyone in driving distance of this place

I ordered their lamb and keema kebab combo and it was sooooo good! It came with rice, naan bread, a salad and a side of haleem. . Their food is so good and I love their friendly staff. Oh, and they Dubai chocolates there which in my opinion are the best I’ve tried thus far. Definitely a must go if you like Afghanistan style kebabs.

Charcoal Kabab in Herndon is a solid spot overall. The food can be hit or miss, but when it’s good, it really hits the spot. Flavors are satisfying and worth it on a good day.
It tends to get very busy during Ramadan, so expect longer waits during peak times. Best to plan accordingly.
