Perfect setting for a romantic date night. Food was delicious. Staff was very attentive and welcoming.
Celebrated my wife's birthday there. The entire experience was fantastic. The service was perfect, and the food was outstanding. We had champagne and caviar to begin the evening which I had coordinated prior to our reservation. The evening was exactly what I had hoped for.
This restaurant is an absolute treasure for French food lovers! The owners serve with so much love!

I have been to their wine dinners, but never eaten off the full menu before. The scallops appetizer was so divine that we had to ask for more bread so we wouldn't waste a drop of the amazing sauce. The Riesling pie was incredible and the beef stroganoff was melt in your mouth pieces of filet. Not to mention the owners are wonderful and make you feel like you're at home.
What great, nice people that run this place. You feel like you are visiting them in their home. Will definitely go back again.
We live in the town of Herndon and have walked by La Bonne Vie may times, so we were excited to finally be dining there. The food was absolutely delicious; from the fresh baked bread, to the bacon wrapped scallops, to the Trout Almondine, all finished off with a delightfully light and creamy creme brulee. Everything was fabulous. We had a late sitting so the restaurant grew quiet, so the owner/chef had time to chat with us. She and her husband take great pride in their restaurant and, rightfully so. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meal and the evening. So glad we finally got a chance to experience this little gem of a restaurant.
Excellent food. Arrived and a staff member came out and saw us but returned into the back. The same person came out again a few minutes later and sat us. Seemed like they didn't know what to do. They brought brought some rolls. We ordered drinks. They came, but no one ever came back to check on us or offer refills and there was an extended wait for food since it seems to be prepared upon order. Ambiance is excellent as well as the food but for the price one would hope there would be a little more attentiveness to guests. They weren't busy and had only a few tables seated.
Had dinner tonight with my two teenage daughters. Owners were very friendly, and obviously proud of their restaurant. I love supporting hard working, skilled people who care about quality! Food was delicious! Pate, escargot, duck breast, filet Au Poivre, crème brûlée were all stand outs!

Visited recently for the first time on our anniversary and wow, where has this place been? This has the best french food in the area and it's charming and reasonably priced. We had the scallops and escargot appetizers and the beef tenderloin and beef stroganoff entrees and everything was AMAZING, even the bread and the creme brulee was the best we ever had. I am suspecting everything at this place is delicious - we are going to be regulars until we work our way through every dish on the menu. It is that good.

From start to finish our meal was superb. Atmosphere is elegant, quiet enough for good conversation . Excellent service from very knowledgeable staff. The latter part of the meal we found ourselves recounting other memorable meals worldwide. We are foodies who travel some and we are in our 70's and early 80s This is in our top 10 dinners anywhere in the world. We had coquille st Jacque, escargot for appetizers. Salmon entree was wild caught pacific salmon prepared in a pastry with spinach and mushrooms. Duck was Canadian duck which has less gamey taste and more tender meat. It was delicious on a bed of red cabbage and reduced sour cherries . Steak au poivre was prepared exactly as requested and was very good. They were out of chocolate moose, but the profiteroles and crème brûlée were excellent. Ice wine and amaretto finished our meal. We had an excellent Bordeaux which was relatively inexpensive. We finished the meal, after we each had desert with amaretto and ice wine.

My wife and I dined at this traditional, charming French restaurant and had a great experience. She started with the Pâté de Campagne, which she truly enjoyed, and followed it up with the Coq au Riesling Pie, a big hit. I went with the French onion soup to start, and then had the Magret de Canard, and I thoroughly enjoyed both. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and everything was beautifully presented.
The service was top notch from start to finish, attentive and friendly. One important note: you definitely need to make reservations if you want to dine here, as the place books up quickly. All in all, a wonderful evening with great food and excellent service. We’ll definitely be back.
