ITS NOT THE SAME, CHANGE THE RESTAURANT NAME ALREADY!!!
Masala Wok is fusion Asian/Indian and it was REALLY good Indian food. This is NOT the same restaurant it was a year ago, it’s now Portuguese chicken with SOME Indian food. Hence the name “charcoal grill” to differentiate themselves. Disgrace, you guys are misleading and NEED to change the restaurant name. I am upset, this place used to have the best Indian food like the butter chicken, now it’s just chicken briyani which is ok, but it’s JUST THAT ITEM. I guess the chicken can be ok but I’m upset they are misleading with the restaurant name.
Excellent food. Excellent service
They used to care about the environment. Then they sold out.
Nice fusion of Asian, Latin, and Indian cuisine.
Very yummy food
The food here is good, HOWEVER the service is absolutely horrible. The first time I ordered from here I ordered delivery. When the food came I was missing the Tikka fries as well as 2 mango lassis. I called up and was told that they were sorry, and that they would write down my name and number so next time I would get a free entree and 25% off of another. Satisfied with the solution I thanked them and enjoyed the food that did come.Ready to give them another shot I ordered again a week later. This time, I did takeout because I thought maybe the issue last time was with the delivery. Unfortunately that was not the case... I called up and told them about my previous experience and how I was offered a free entree and 25% off of another, they said they understood and I placed my order. When I came to pick it up however it was a different story. I told them I had called and about the situation. They then brought the food and rang everything up silently without talking to us, and there is no display to see an itemized list. However when I got the receipt I found that they only took off an appetizer and there was no discount. When I noticed this I ran the numbers and it should have been about $15 cheaper. I let the guy at the cash register know and all he had to say was, "I already closed the ticket, you should have told us beforehand. All I can do is give you a free mango lassi". (Which we had already ordered 2 of and are only $3.50.) I then asked if there was a manager who could do something or a business card for a manager. He says "No" then just walks off to talk to another employee. Oh and to top it off they forgot our mango lassis again (but didn't forget to charge us) until I had to remind them. I could understand if the place was super busy, but I was literally the only person in there...I'm really disappointed as the food is pretty good, but the horrendous service far out-weighs the food.
Just moved to Herndon and I was looking for a good place for Indian, as it’s one of my favorite types of food. This place was disappointing in every way.My fiancé and I ordered delivery with DoorDash. This place (somehow) has a 4.7 star rating in their App. When the food arrived, we were underwhelmed by the portion size. $40 for two dishes and some samosas and there was not much food compared to most Indian restaurants. I ordered butter chicken and my fiancé ordered chicken tikka masala. The chicken looked and tasted like it was frozen pre-cut and added to the sauce. The basmati rice was old and dry. The garlic naan that came with the dishes was in very tiny pita-like pieces. The sauces for the samosas was watered down.Definitely won’t order from this place ever again and the search for a decent Indian restaurant is back on.
Under new management than when it opened (and since my last review) but still really good. The chicken Tikka Masala is really great, so would still be my go-to. The new owner seems to be a really nice guy, and I know he’s trying to make it appeal more to the local El Salvadoran population with the Charcoal Chicken, but it’s still Indian at heart - not Asian Fusion anymore. It’s no frills and quick, so don’t go for the atmosphere. Good for a quick lunch.
This spot is my favored. I go to many restaurants but here I keep coming back again and again. The team is very amicable and the cooking they place on your table is so fresh and tasty. I would always prefer to have a decent meal in this restaurant. I recommend this place with pleasure.
The ownership has changed. It’s not the same, I come up here maybe three times a year and when I’m near I get the Chicken Curry. Well, I guess I have to find a new restaurant ???♀️

Clearly this is NOT masala wok any more, however the owners will tell you they make amazing Indian food just like masala wok when you go in. We didn't know that Masala wok had gone out of business and we drove from Loudoun county to have Indian food. We stayed to give it a shot to not waste the drive. The food was so bad we got up and just left it on the table. It was very old charcoal chicken in a rancid sauce of oil. I told my daughter to not even try a second bite. I was worried about food poisoning. Please stay far away from this place. It was that bad.
Nice fusion of Asian, Latin, and Indian cuisine.
The place does have decent Indian foods as well as Asian, but the Asian food is a bit bland from my perspective. The wraps they serve are mostly consisted of cheese rather than traditional Indian styles. The amount of purple and pink colors on the cheese is absurd. It really is hard to tell if they randomly put food coloring on it for some reason or if it is just the color from the onions. Don’t try their wet Asian food, and certainly don’t try the wraps.
The order was easy to make, the only good thing I have to say. The Total was $40 for two dishes and samosas. The butter chicken was horrible, just too much cream, and the chicken, not even sure it’s chicken. The other meal was supposed to be biryani. Not sure what we got instead. The rice had eggs in it, and looked like the combined left over rice into the box to fill it- absolutely gross. Maybe they put fried rice instead or biryani rice, and it was lacking all flavor.Yeh samosa was dripping of oil, couldn’t even have one bite.Would never eat there again.
