We had the best dinner at Mellow Mushroom! We were visiting from the Rochester, NY area and were craving pizza. We found this place on Google and it had good reviews. We were not disappointed. From the atmosphere to the look of the menu, the beer and drink options and the delicious pizza, we had a great time! We also had a person in our group with a gluten-sensitivity and they were very accommodating.
Parking: Plenty of parking
Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options were available
If I was allowed only one more meal it would have to be the Thai dye curry chicken pizza!!! staff was very engaging and attentive. Kudos to the Sunday pm shift!!!
It was my first visit and it was at someone else request, so I wasn't in the mood for the menu. I had the hot wings and ceasar salad. Both were adequate and forgettable. My SIL and daughter loved their pizza and pretzel bites. I found the pretzel bites gummy and more pizza doughy than pretzely. And they came after everyone else had eaten; service could have been more attentive. I'd stick with a pizza or hoagie on another visit. Ambiance was an impersonal chain restaurant; suitable for family meals
Our waiter George has gone out of his way to accommodate my wife and two young children every time we visit. We have a 3 month old that lays in a stroller, and he makes sure we have a comfortable booth in the back for us with extra room. He is very friendly with us and our kids, and always puts in our order right away to avoid our 3 year old needing to wait. The pizza here is fantastic, great happy hour specials too.I suggest asking for George if you are ever to visit this location! Especially if you have young children, thank you George!
I attended a work function at MM. I was immediately impressed by the interior decor and atmosphere. In our event room, which was big enough to comfortably fit 25-30, we had a variety of apps already of apps and pizza. All the pizzas were tasty! A little disappointed that MM only provided us 1 waiter for such a big group, which slowed down service.

Absolutely delicious and filling. The place has such a great vibe. It is a but on the expensive side but it is totally worth it. One small pizza can definitely feed two people. Specially if you order appetizers. Absolutely enjoyed my visit.

Drove down from PA just to try this place out. Buffalo chicken pizza was very good. No onions and ranch instead of blue cheese for me.
I visited this location about five years and had nothing but good things to say about it. I enjoyed my visit so much I wrote about it on Yelp. I was there again last night, and things have really changed. The young woman who sat me was very friendly but then I waited awhile for a server to come by. When he walked by my table he seem surprised to see me. He was not friendly and seemed to be in a bad mood. He barely spoke to me the entire evening. He wasn't helpful when he told me there were no pretzel bites and didn't offer an explanation as to why they were on the menu but not available. Foolishly, I ordered a half order of pretzels instead. It was far too much for one person, which is entirely my fault, but they weren't good. I waited for quite awhile for them and when they came they were very hard and dry. If any garlic butter has been applied to them, it had long since been absorbed by the dough and dried out. All they tasted like were salt and they were very hard to chew. I only at one, and not even all of it. I got the impression that the reason I waited so long is that the pretzel bites were ready in the kitchen for awhile and my server just didn't bring them to me. This was especially evident when my pizza arrived about one minute after the pretzels. It was my second time ordering a Thai Dye pizza and the only complaint I had my first visit five years ago was that there was barely any chicken on my pizza. That was true again on this visit. I counted five small pieces altogether, two of the pieces of pizza did not have any chicken at all on them. The cucumbers were cut in such huge pieces that they were still cold inside and not really appetizing. My server never came back to check on me until I was almost ready to leave. He didn't offer a drink refill until I asked for water. I felt like I was a bother to him. There was another waiter working a table near mine and he was very friendly to his customers. Maybe my server just has a different personality but if so, being a waiter is not the right job choice for him. It was overall a very disappointing experience. I was looking forward to eating at Mellow Mushroom again when I realized I would be coming to Herndon, and it just didn't measure up to my previous experience. Fortunately, I don't get to Herndon very often, so I won't be back.
We drove from Baltimore because we don't have a Mellow Mushroom near us. The trip was totally worth the drive. I'm a dairy free person and love pizza and especially love Mellow Mushroom pizza. The food was great, the service was great, and the amount of food we took home with us was great. The car still smells like pizza and the leftovers are really good. We'll make the trip back in the future when we have time on the weekends.

The Holy Shitake pizza is the absolute best! Love it! It even tasted great as leftovers 2 days later. We went there for my birthday. The server was great, but there was a delay with the kitchen. We will be back!

The service is very slow. Pizza takes time and that's not what I mean. It's the significant amount of time between menu drop off and order, asking for the check and getting the check, never getting refills, etc. But the food is always great so we keep going but just only when we have extra time to waste.

Food was good, service was amazing! We dined with our two kids, ages 1 and 4. Our waiter, George, completely understood our needs without us even having to say anything. He took our order quickly, and noting the cranky/ hungry kids, reassured us he'd bring out each dish as soon as it was ready. He helped us clean the messes as they formed, happily swapped out the breakable plate for a paper plate for our toddler, and brought us our check promptly so we could "make a quick exit" if we needed to. Through all of this, he was friendly and reassuring, and just made our night.
Great food and a wide selection of beer and cocktails.
We've enjoyed Mellow Mushroom in Williamsburg, and it was a pleasant surprise to learn there's a location closer to us in Northern Virginia. MM is for sure a great place to hang with friends and enjoy some delicious bites. They have a wide assortment of libations (didn't have any on our recent visit) and a lot of good food. The main focus is on their gourmet pizzas. We had their version of meat lover's and a smaller mushroom pizza, both were excellent. Our son had the kids french bread pizza and mac n cheese, which he utterly devoured and enjoyed. We also had their Cloud 9 wings, which are oven roasted and topped with garlic parmesan sauce. It was very good, but if we were to be nitpicky, it came out only warm and not piping hot, suggesting that it sat out for a while before it was served to us. Regardless, our entire meal was fantastic, and our server was amazing and attentive as well. We'll be looking forward to hanging out here with some of our friends in the near future!

First time at mellow mushroom and I see this becoming a beautiful friendship… as someone with celiacs, eating a gluten free pizza that tastes so good (and so much like normal pizza) is wonderful. To many places make gluten free pizza taste awful.. but mellow mushroom? Best gluten free pizza I have EVER HAD. Thank you for being inclusive.
