The Food is good but the service is extremely poor. Their take out is so mismanaged and takes forever. Everytime I order here I am reminded of their poor service and why I don't take out here often.

Whenever we want to eat Indian vegetarian food, Sai saravana bhavan is always the first choice. They have amazing dosa, vada and north indian curries like paneer tikka masala, kadhai paneer, malai kofta etc. The most important, its economical and tastier than many other restaurants near by. There are few occasions of missing food items, taste and quality but thats ok sometime as no one is perfect. Overall a nice place to enjoy indian food. The only thing missing is the sitting arrangements.

This is the ONLY place where I’ve seen consistently good Indian food in the Fairfax area. Their paneer tikka masala and cauliflower Manchurian are always amazing. Their food is not too sweet like most places in the area. Their spices blends are rich and delicious. Other places are often too bland. Love this place.

Their beg briyani is a must-try. And so is the pesarattu upma. The taste is just as we get in Chennai.

They serve frozen (Deep) naan/paranthas. I ordered garlic naan and Aloo parantha each $3 and both were frozen deep ones which I could have instead taken out from my freezer and warm them up for 1/6th of the price!

The worst customer service by the bespectacled lady upfront. I was trying to sort a order miscommunication and she got very defensive and eveb though we drove all the way from Ashburn to pick it up, she was so very aggressive that we left without picking it up. Will not be stepping foot there again. If they need to keep theor customers they need someone with an idea of what customer service is.

The Parotta kuruma was ok. But the Pongal came without chutney or sambar. The Pongal was also cold. This is the first time I ordered and didn’t know I had to specify sambar and chutney for Pongal. The dhal was also cold and thick. I wouldn’t call this a great experience but had to be ok for a quick lunch between a busy Sunday schedule. Could have been better.

This is my first time trying HSB in the NOVA region, and I thought the place delivered to some extent. I tried the medu vada, kothu parotta, parotta kurma , and urundai curry. Except Urundai curry (which is a South Indian delicacy), all other dishes were spot on. The vadas were soft, crispy, and delicious. The sambar was bit on the daal consistency and lacked tang, but decent. Of all the items, parotta kurma was the definitely the best, and I recommend it.Overall, if you are craving for South Indian comfort vegetarian food, I recommend HSB.

This place was our favorite for the last 3 to 4 years and we use to take out once or twice a week. We loved their food so much and enjoyed with family and friends. But…. lately for the past 2 to 3 months - their food tastes horrible. ?Especially the vathal kulambu / puundu kulambu / Oorundai kulambu have watered down - no taste, just fried onion and water. For two orders of kulambu, the lady gives one rice!!!! Says she put two orders of rice in one box - pathetic - you should be ashamed to adding just water to kulambu and giving only one box of rice and even justifying it. Do I look like a beggar to you to ask for rice every time I order ? I know my review is harsh, but when I see a good restaurant is getting ruined by some cheap management lately, I couldn’t stand and say nothing. In last 3 years, I have ordered more than 100 times from this place and under 5 times from nearby A2B. That’s how this place use to be. Now it’s all ???.
Fully satisfied
