I'm not going to lie, I saw all of the previous reviews about the place, not being the best, or the food was always burned. I still went anyway, just out of curiosity. But I will say that the food was actually good, and the service was great. Everything was cooked really fast, and was not undercooked or overcooked. I think the only bad thing about this place is that they just need to clean up the place a little bit. But it's pretty good.

The food is..hibachi. its good.We go here because my wife loves it. I on the other hand believe Hokkaido across street is better and WAY more reasonable on the price. We get the same things across the street plus noodles for less than 100 and we always spend about 150 at Kanpai.

From the time my family and I sat down the waitress was extremely rude huffing and puffing and acting like everything was an inconvenience to her. It was also my sisters birthday and they refused to sing happy birthday to her even tho they sang happy birthday to two other tables. There was also a foul odor where that sat us.

One of the best Japanese Restaurants ever! I have been going to this restaurant for years! They now have 2 locations in Richmond and Hopewell. I started eating there many years ago at their first restaurant. My favorite dish is Chicken & Shrimp with extra Mushrooms. They NEVER disappoint! ❤️

We have been coming here since opening. Miss the original owners who cared about everyone's experience. We arrived today with a group around 1:30 and was sent away said we had to be seated to eat by 1;30. Nothing in the website. We were sent sway. Continued disappointments
