We had a large party and service, food and wine were spot on. Sadly, the week after visiting, the restaurant sustained a devastating fire. I hope they can reopen quickly.

Really loved this place going to give 5 stars but want to write an honest review. We dined March 4th 6 PMI ordered the duck.. it was cooked beautifully but I had to cut of the skin which is one of the best parts because it was sooo inedibly salty.. like I tried but couldn’t ughh.. so had to cut all the skin off.The service was amazing, the staff was amazing, atmosphere amazing, customer service amazing!!Will definitely be back if I’m in the area again

This is the kind of place where it is obvious the owners care deeply about their staff, the quality of the food, and the customer experience. As a vegetarian with very specific food preferences, I knew there wouldn't be much/anything on the menu for me, but I was happy to accompany my husband whose mouth was watering for many of the options. To be fair, there was one vegetarian entree - a tempeh dish that may very well have been delicious but I'm not a fan of truffle oil which was used in the preparation so I didn't try it. What I did order was the broccolini with poached egg starter. It also has ham in the dish but was easy to pick out and share with the hubby (I'm not a super strict vegetarian, I just have my preferences). My husband really enjoyed his grilled chicken meal. I tried a bite of the veggies that came with his meal and they were cooked to perfection. Our bartender (Sam, I think?) and the new manager (Holly) were very sweet and friendly. The only strange thing about the experience was the bar seating. The bar height is too high (or chairs too low? I'm 5'8" so not a height issue) and the bar doesn't come out far enough for your knees to have enough room underneath. Small (?) design details that you'd think a place like this would have gotten right. We will go back sometime if we're in Warm Springs again.

This place was absolutely amazing. We traveled here for my Fiancee's birthday on 2/3/23 and I stupidly reserved the wrong day. When we arrived the owner was more than accommodating. Him and our waitress along with the kitchen staff was absolutely wonderful. The food tasted fresh and was built on layers of flavor. I forgot our waitress name now but she had blonde hair and the sweetest smile! The entire place felt warm and welcoming. The food, atmosphere and service was so good we ate here on our last night as well. The second time we sat at the bar and the bartender I believe his name was Ben served us and he's so funny. He came from VA beach so close to where we are from and he is such a sweet and down to earth guy. I could honestly go on and on about how great this place was and we can't wait to plan a trip to come back!

Came here shortly after Valentine's Day and did the 4 course dinner. We enjoyed some cocktails with dinner. Started with bread service, sourdough was our favorite by far. The second course, as suggested by our server, was french onion and a creme of 6 onion soup. Both were awesome. We did our third courses with smoked shrimp and spinach salad with a bacon fat dressing. Both were good portioned apps. We moved to dinner entrees of gnocchi with duck and kale, very large plate, so yummy and duck cooked great! I enjoyed the glazed lamb entree with couscous and a spicy sauce that paired with the sweeter honey glaze. Dessert was a creme brulee and bread pudding. We ordered 4 courses, but the plates were large and could have definitely been finished eating after our entrees. It's not too pricey, but it is definitely filling portions for the price point. Definitely wait to order dessert instead of ordering with other courses. We would return, especially if the courses are seasonal! Jake n kev

The place was very quaint and cute fine dining place for a romantic date. It's right by the homestead resort. The music was perfect and set the moods. The staff was super helpful, professional and friendly. Our waiter kept checking in with us, providing us recommendations, and helping clear the dishes. You can really tell the freshness of the food and the chef putting a lot of thought into these dishes and plating it. The bread platter was simple. I really liked the focaccia bread with right bounce to it. The French onion soup was amazing. You can really taste the freshness of the stock and the many of hours of the stock simmering to create that tasty flavor. The Chicken 'Coq au Vin' was one of the best chicken I've had. It wasn't dried at all and all the chicken was cooked correctly. Only thing is they need less salt for the sautéed spinach. The beef short rib was the highlight dish. My knife cut in smoothly and it was juicy. I really like the red wine taste in the sauce and the beef was cooked in. The mash potato was smooth and I loved the spices in it. 1st recommendation is they should do a chef's special menu or shared menu/sampler menu of like for $55-60 that you can get 1 first dish, 1 second dish, and 1 desert/app. 2nd recommendations that some things on the menu were overpriced like the French onion soup should be $8-10 and the beef braised rib should be like $30. Overall, I highly recommend this place and would come back!

I had a lovely dinner during a recent overnight stay. My sister and I enjoyed a charming and delicious dinner for two. Our server was warm and made great recommendations. We ordered both a wonderful smoked cocktail and cheese course that both required table side preparation and it was a lovely touch. This restaurant has great charm and a very intimate feeling. The food was exceptional. We ordered bread service, a spinach salad, the local cheese course, roast chicken, and short rib. Everything was just outstanding and we knew dessert was worth staying for. We enjoyed a top notch crème brûlée and the chocolate ganache. This dinner turned around a trip that had been soured by a subpar stay at the Omni and very disappointing meals in the hotel restaurants.

We stay at The Homestead frequently and often do not leave the property for meals. But LCDO is certainly worth the walk into town. Everything our party ordered was superb. The wine list is well thought out and the bartender outstanding. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. A true gem in the mountains.

We really enjoyed our dinner here! Food was delicious & service was excellent. Best place to dine in hot springs! (Maybe you guys should offer some lessons to the folks at the Omni.)

There are great restaurants in Virginia. Les Cochons d’Or clearly is among them. Beautiful surroundings. World-class wines. We have a new best place to go now. We will plan our visits to make sure Cochons is open!

Dinner at LCdO was phenomenal and the service was impeccable. The cocktails were exceptional with excellent presentation. Love the dried lime wheel on the spicy marg. We had the mussels and french onion soup to start, followed by duck confit and chicken as our mains. Tender and beautifully prepared. We finished with a deconstructed lime curd dessert- fun and fabulous! Our waiter guided us through each course as if he could read our minds. We will return!

Tripadvisor shows this restaurant as very expensive. While prices in all restaurants have increased along with high inflation over the past year+, we found this restaurant to be reasonably priced compared to many. We also found the quality of our meal to be outstanding, as was the service. So there was excellent value. While not a fancy place, the restaurant was very clean with nice artwork and a very pleasant atmosphere. I would note that we went on a Tuesday, while several other local restaurants, including some at the Omni Resort, were closed on Monday and Tuesday, and some even on Wednesday. Admittedly, had others been open, we probably would not have gone to this restaurant. However, it was a fortunate turn of events for us and we were quite pleased with the outcome.
