A shining star in a sea of mediocrity. So many restaurants have lost their way but if you crave seafood this place will not disappoint.

Making a reservation was easy, the host and wait staff were friendly and competent. Two of us shared a dozen oysters, a house salad, and the catch of the day, which was the best wahoo I have ever had. We topped it off with a slice of house made key lime pie. With 2 glasses of wine, it was the perfect amount of food for just over $100. I will visit again.

This is my fifth summer visiting Dredge and it’s the highlight of my annual visit to the Northern Neck. Excellent food, very personable hostess and wait staff, awesome vibe. A+

The Dredge has always had consistently high and delicious standards. I have probably tried 5 or 6 different mains and virtually every appetizer. Very consistent. This is perhaps the most reliable place for a high quality meal in the Northern Neck.

Seated quickly. Drink order delivered promptly. Food order: my steak was too salty although cooked to medium rare as requested, spouse giant crab cake was not giant and significantly smaller than the last time he ordered this., waitress had a poor attitude, noise needs to be deadened.

Dinner with friends. The food was like cheap diner fare, service okay but unfriendly. The dining room is as cold and bare as a cheap diner. And expensive.

Very disappointed with our first experience here. Seated in the bar area, extremely loud. Ordered the crab dip, was basically crap soup with no spoon, there was no way to dip tortilla chips in that mess. Sent that back. Pimento Mac & cheese was dry with zero pimento flavor. Mahi tacos were served cold. Our only saving grace was the key lime pie which was delicious. We are locals, but won’t be returning.

This is a wonderful local place for food and drinks. The wait staff is wonderful (thanks, Kelli, for making our latest visit so great). The owner/ executive chef, Bryan, is incredibly enthusiastic about his food and sourcing (especially the local oysters and the North Carolina flounder). Three of us had the flounder. 3 different ways, and the 4th person enjoyed a great salad with blackened shrimp. We look forward to our next visit!

Truly a local bar fare with a neighborhood vibe & terrific seafood. A must for oyster lovers as these local gems are so sweet & buttery you won’t want to miss out on a meal of them. We did just that.

Besides multiple servings of oysters, then steamed oysters & sea scallops all cooked to perfection. Also, oyster stew thick with,.,,,oysters, good blended flavors from other ingredients in a cream base.
Raw oysters with basil oil was actually a bit overpowering for my taste. Prefer just a dab of anything on a delicious oyster so a not to mask their delicate flavor. Just saying.
Fried oysters had a Hush Puppy coating then fried just right.
Being Taco Tuesday our guest enjoyed fish tacos & tangy spicy slaw added.
House salad was very crisp & fresh with a super chunky homemade blue cheese dressing, on side. Croutons were meh. Discarded.
Suggest none or a thin slice of cornbread or a few cornbread croutons would raise the bar.
Dessert; Espresso Martini was very good with lots of ice slivers afloat.
Guest with food allergy was accepted, well done & thanks!

A pleasant manager or owner walked about checking up on folks.
Great server & bartenders, cheerful atmosphere.
Very clean. Run efficiently.

Cash & credit cards accepted.
No reservations, 10 min wait on busy night at bar with luxury cushioned bar seats.

Highly recommend The Dredge for your casual dining or happy hour experience.
Handicapped access & easy parking.

Oysters were great. Hopefully this is a one-off, but my steamed shrimp were significantly overdone and I had to de-vein one. Atmosphere and service was great

We were in Irvington for vacation this week and ended up going to Dredge 3 nights for dinner and drinks. Kelly was our waitress all 3 nights and she was amazing! The food was delicious. We tried almost everything on the menu! The staff was friendly and attentive. Kelly is the BEST! Thanks for making our vacation memorable!
