You can't ask for a more beautiful atmosphere. The service is excellent and the scene is relaxed. We were disappointed in the mussels because they tasted too fishy and weren't that appealing. Other than that it was a delightful experience.

Fantastic Birthday Lunch at Fish Hawk Oyster Bar

We had such a great experience at Fish Hawk Oyster Bar during a birthday lunch—it was exactly what we were hoping for and more!

We decided to split the Fish and Chips with Old Bay Fries, and it did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly fried—crispy on the outside and tender on the inside—and the Old Bay seasoning on the fries was such a flavorful twist that made them totally addictive. The portion was generous, and splitting it still left us both feeling fully satisfied.

What really made the meal stand out, though, was the service. Our waiter was super friendly, upbeat, and made us feel welcome right away. When he accidentally brought out the wrong beer, he immediately owned the mistake, brought us the correct one quickly, and even took the first one off the bill without us having to ask. That kind of attentive and easygoing service goes a long way—and definitely made the lunch feel even more special.

A nice little waterside restaurant with wonderful views. The staff was overwhelmed, but provided excellent service anyhow. Brian is always excellent, and the waiters stepped it up as best as possible to overcome the staffing deficiency. We had a wonderful lunch and will be back again.

Disappointing. Visited 6/22/24. Had a table at the beach. Took forever to get a server. Server was very nice and warned us that the kitchen was backed up. Took us 1.5 hrs from sitting down to being served lunch and when it finally arrived, the shrimp nachos were soggy. Again, our server was very nice and comp’d us some drinks but not in a rush to return.

We stayed at The Tides Inn for five days and four nights and dined at The Fish Hawk daily. Each time, we greatly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. What stood out the most, however, was our regular server, Joey. Joey was attentive, knowledgeable, kind, and thoughtful. Joey regularly went out of his way to ensure that all guests were accommodated even if they weren’t in his section of the restaurant. Being a local, he was able to give us many recommendations for things to do and see. He always had a positive attitude. We look forward to visiting The Fish Hawk and Joey again in the future.

Me and my friend did a little "Oyster Tour of the Middle and Upper Peninsula" and Fish Hawk was stop #2. While we only had the oysters (which were FANTASTIC!) the atmosphere of the place and decor (including the whole Tides Inn) were top notch. Nothing compared to our bartender Frank! He was so nice, and knowledgeable. We got there close to closing but he took time to give us a tour and a fantastic history lesson about the Inn and the area. I would have come back because all 3, Food, Service and Atmosphere but honestly you can have ok food and atmosphere. People make it great. Frank is great and we are gonna make another trip soon because of him. Yall have a gem!

Fun and bright spot on the water. Enjoyable place with a friendly staff. Food was nicely prepared. Good place for lunch.

Fried oysters were really small and burnt to the point of tasting burnt and dried out, worst oysters I've ever had! I didn't know if I was eating an oyster or a ball of burnt batter.
