Unfortunately, we were not able to try OG as it was closed. We drove 2 hours to eat their Q so we were disappointed. There was no indication on the website that it wouldn't be open.
This place is wonderful! Mr. Jones and his sister are nice and easy to work with, they went above and beyond for us on our wedding catering order. I ordered the food at the Jarratt location, that location had closed and they cooked everything over at their Wakefield location and brought it to me in Jarratt. We received so many compliments on how amazing the brisket is. I will be sending people your way. Thank you for your contribution to make our wedding amazing!
Love the food here. I live around the corner and have eaten here several times. The ribs were amazing, fall off the bone good.
Kid-friendliness: There's something on the menu for everyone.
"The pulled pork sandwich was tender and moist just needed a little more sauce and smoke but service was fast and great"
Great people & great food! Omg, the sauce! I hope they sell the sauce this summer when I come back.
This place is a must. Marlo, his Aunt and staff are not only very welcoming, they know BBQ. I promise you will not be disappointed. But don't take my work for it stop in. Don't be fooled be the facade either, very discrete on the exterior.
Found this location on a Google search. Ordered a rack of ribs, cabbage and onion rings. Ribs were tender and had a good flavor. They have a homemade sauce for the ribs. I didn't care for the cabbage. I tasted a lot of vinegar. The onion rings had a good flavor; no crunch.
I wanted BBQ on my drive from FL to NY. This turned out to be so much easier than I thought exit 20 off I 95 there were two gas stations to choose from, and then a minute down the road was this place. It was fantastic and probably took less time to gas up & get food then if we hit a rest stop.I had the brisket sandwich and my daughter got the pulled chicken barbecue sandwich. Both were fantastic.
Food was delicious! Brisket burger was on point, and I ordered j*** wings… but I got bbq. They still were good! I’ll definitely try it again.
Good food, friendly service, just off I-95. We had the brisket sandwich, cheesesteak and the G-thang.

We were on our way back home, looking for barbecue along I-95. Google found OG and we decided to give it a try— so glad we did!The pulled pork was delicious and had the perfect texture. Also had a side of beans, which was good, but paled in comparison to the pork.To top it off, the pit-master/owner came out to say hello and he was such a nice guy! It’s so nice to be able to support small businesses when the people running them are good people. And did I mention that the BBQ was awesome? ;-)
We really loved the food here! Wings, brisket, mac n cheese, pulled pork was all delicious.Owner and staff are very friendly and kind people. And they have a nice ambiance with music, and soon will open a bar
A quick, easy mile off I-95 you'll find this unpretentious, unassuming, small-town corner restaurant in Jarratt, VA. I have had BBQ everywhere people make it -- which is everywhere -- and I have had some great brisket, but I have never had it better than at OG Ribs and BBQ...I don't believe that it's humanly (or bovinely) possible to cook it any better. I missed it before I was finished eating it!!!
Fantastic BBQ joint. Atmosphere is very nice, extremely friendly staff. The brisket sandwich, macaroni and cheese, and rice pudding were all extremely tasty. I can’t wait to come back and try their ribs!
We stopped by for our first time today. The food is amazing! Service was great. They had a daily special even on Saturday and it was such a large serving that it fed two of us. We will definitely make this place a normal stop.
