I had a great pastrami on rye today, and it was amazing. Stop in and try their deli sandwiches! It's a nice location near Kilmarnock Town Centre Park. Order a couple of sandwiches and enjoy a picnic.
Great food, great owner.

Wonderful family owned small town business
Rude staff. We were leaving our vacation rental and decided to stop in for lunch here on our way home. Walking in, it seemed closed, the lights were off and no one was standing at the counter, but the sign said open. There was one customer ahead of me in line who seemed to have been waiting awhile already, and in the back you could see one person in the back kitchen on a phone call, holding up her finger at the customer to wait. Once off the call, the customer ahead of me ordered chicken salad, and the woman working told her she was sold out, and needed to “go to the store” to get some more? That should have been my cue to leave, but we ordered four subs and went outside to wait. Since we were traveling with our four year old niece, we had brought her lunch, as many know toddlers are picky- when we asked for a fork the woman working seemed hesitant to give us one. When our niece started eating, the woman working came outside to tell us it was a violation and that we needed to leave. She then asked if I wanted to cancel our order to which I replied “Yes, we are all traveling together.” And as I was walking out she said “I don’t know why people think they can bring their own food.”The restaurant is right beside a public park with picnic tables…we were all eating outside…I‘ve never had this problem anywhere and I wouldn’t be leaving a review if I hadn’t felt the customer service was so poor.

I was passing by in this town and came across this deli, when I had ordered my food there was hair in my sandwich. I'm sure this place makes great food, but I will never know, because thankfully I saw it before taking the first bite. health code is a serious matter in dealing with food.
We got the chicken salad sub and the Italian sub and it was so good! 10/10 recommend
Thank you for the delicious and reasonably priced hot

I love Dixie Deli’s chicken salad. It has amazing flavor, lasts a while if you decide to get pounds of it for a long work week, and it’s made fresh. I forgot to call and ask to see if they would have some available, so I messaged Dixie Deli, through messenger and the owner Grace, responded almost immediately and said she can see if she can get the items needed to make it the next day. Since she is the kind woman she is, she took the time to make a fresh batch of chicken salad in a short notice for me and others to enjoy. I recommend others to try Dixie Deli’s chicken salad and sandwiches, because you will not be disappointed. The owner Grace, is sweet, amazing, and always has been kind to me every-time I go into her restaurant.

The worker was unpleasant from the moment we arrived. We felt like she didn't really want us to order (said she was the only one working today, as though she'd prefer we didn't order). The signs on the wall said things like, "Did I roll my eyes out loud?" "You can be stupid, but we charge extra." "We have the right to refuse service to everyone." "I'm used to dumb questions." Etc.The sandwiches were fine, but expensive. The worker was unpleasant. We are in Kilmarnock often and will not return.

This deli is unbeatable! If you like homemade salads, sandwiches, soups and subs...this is the place to go! No fast food greasy crap! Quality meats, cheeses and bread... homemade chicken, tuna, egg and potato salads! Just an awesome stop for lunch! Has withstood the test of time as a family business. I have been going to this deli since 1992 and it's still going strong! The last generation is running it now after decades of serving their community. The Pandemic was hard on all businesses but especially the local small businesses. The daughter makes changes as needed for survival. I have seen that business and family go through so much over time and always manage to survive. I hope Dixie Deli is around for many years to come! You are a blessing to the community!
I have been eating at this restaurant since 1992 and they never disappoint! The food is always fresh and tastes great! Love the homemade chicken and potato salad! Hot Sub is the best around! Italian recipes used regularly with quality meats, cheeses and bread! This family business has stood the test of time! Through economic ups and downs, family losses, the Covid pandemic...they always seem to figure out how to keep it going. The daughter of the Pergola family runs it now, on her own, after so many years and recipes. I truly hope she is blessed with continued patronage so that we may all be blessed with her awesome food!
