I liked the beers here. It appears to be a local hangout with very little seating. People were enjoying the basketball games on the big screen. There were lots of dogs, which I love, and patrons standing at the high tables outside on the sidewalk. The interior is relatively uninteresting so I spent most of my time out front looking at the people dining at King Street Oyster House across the street. It’s a good location and they have a small beer garden out back. I tried the Oatmeal Stout. I’d say that it was very good. Good place to stop for a beer and maybe hang out with some friends while on your way to something else in the old downtown.

While visiting historic Leesburg, we stopped by Black Hoof Brewing for a beer. We waited awhile at the bar before someone took our drink order. After ordering our beers, we sat by the window. It was nice that there was a stack of coasters next to us. They had 9 beers on tap including Falcon's Prey (American IPA), Broadhead Bock, Decoy Dunkelweizen, Deep Cover Oatmeal Stout, Dominator Dopplebock, Longbow Berliner Weisse, Off Road Radler, Poacher's Pilsner, Slingshot Seltzer, and Tail Feather English Mild. The beers came in three sizes - 4oz, 10oz, and 22oz. Kishore had the 10oz Oatmeal Stout, my fiancé had 10oz Falcon's Prey, and I had the 4oz Longbow. The Oatmeal Stout had the following flavor profile: creamy, coffee, oatmeal, and toffee. The Falcon's Prey had the following flavor profile: bitter, hoppy, grapefruit-y, and grassy. The Longbow had the following flavor profile: light, crisp, flat, dry, and sour. The beers were alright. I don't know if we would return unless they had New England Style IPA or more fruited sours!

Place looks great, very nice vibe. But the beer was just not good. I rarely complain about beer but both of the ones I tried were just downright bad. Hopefully it was just a bad run.

Black Hoof is a German inspired brewery with a great variety of beers. As far as I know, they don't offer any food beyond pretzels, but their policies allow people to bring their own food.Lots of indoor seating and outside spaces as well. Looks like trivia is back on the schedule as well.If you like smoky flavors and the rauchbier is on draft, definitely get it.
Wonderful selection of German beers in the heart of Leesburg. Been coming here since they opened in 2017 and the quality has never waned. Obligatory stop when in town.

Love their hefeweizen! My husband and I find ourselves gravitating towards Black Hoof at least once a week. They have indoor seating, outdoor seating, card and board games, and they’re dog friendly! They also allow outside food and have yummy pretzels! We met the owner Bill on our way out one day and he was very nice and asked us about our experience. It is nice to know the owner is present and actually cares to hear personal reviews when his patrons are there. Nice little nook in the town of Leesburg which will continue to get my business.

This place caught my eye so I had to stop in and I’m glad I did. A lot of places don’t offer sour/sweet options but they had a Gose on tap that was refreshing! You can also get flavor add-ins however it is delicious without it. The bartender was polite and knowledgeable. The entire space was clean and well kept! It’s been around for 6 years, check it out!
