Tuscarora Mill Restaurant 203 Harrison St SE, Leesburg American • $$

“Tuscarora Mill (Tuskies) Restaurant went above and beyond to make our son's High School Graduation lunch special (he is first-generation), even though i only booked a reservation the day before. They phoned me to check his name and printed out special menus as a keepsake and gave him a gift at the end. They were attentive and understanding that by the time he came to eat the stress and excitement of the day suddenly hit him and he was exhausted affecting his appetite. They happily got him a box to take it home without any judgement. The food was tasty and well cooked and staff helpful and kind (they even gave us a choice of table). The main dishes are on the pricier side, so it is why we chose it to mark his occasion. However, we will be back for drinks and appetisers in future.”

“🔥 MELT in Leesburg, VA – Where Burgers Become Royalty 🔥 Today my taste buds officially moved to a new zip code — Flavor Town, population: MELT. My wife and I finally made it to MELT in Leesburg after hearing great things, and let me just say… shame on us for waiting so long. Debbie, the owner (and now part-time head-bopper), greeted us like we were long-lost cousins showing up late to the family BBQ. When I told her it was our first visit, she gave me a playful bop on the head with our table number and asked, “What took you so long?” Touché, Debbie. Touché. Now onto the burgers… and yes, they deserve their own paragraph. I ordered the A Jazzed Up Swiss Burger — and let me tell you, this was no run-of-the-mill meat puck. We're talking Gruyère so rich it probably pays taxes in Switzerland, Black Forest ham that must’ve taken a first-class flight in, baby bella mushrooms sautéed to perfection, and a tangy smear of whole-grain mustard tying it all together. Every bite said, “Sir, this is not fast food — this is fine dining between buns.” My wife had the Paris Burger — imagine garlic-kissed beef topped with brie so creamy it probably auditioned for a romance film, with balsamic onions adding the drama. Let’s just say she stopped talking mid-bite. That’s how you know it’s good. The vibe? Casual but classy, with staff who treat you like family (the good side of the family, not the ones who borrow your tools and never bring them back). And yes… in a moment of grilled beef-fueled euphoria, I may have proclaimed myself the Burger King. Debbie gave me a look. I instantly realized my mistake. This isn’t that kind of burger joint. This is a burger experience. Saying "Burger King" here is like bringing boxed wine to a French vineyard. Long story short — go to MELT. Go now. Go often. And when Debbie bops you on the head, just smile… because that means you're officially part of the MELT kingdom. 👑🍔”

From the moment I walked in I was greeted with a smile and a smell that made my mouth water!! I picked up 2 full subs and a side of the Mac salad. I did not watch the subs being prepared and was soooo impressed when I got home with them!! My teenage son and I could barely finish one sub!!!! The authenticity of the bread, meats, toppings, and dressing were top notch. Absolutely THE BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD!!! The quality and quantity is worth every penny!! THANK YOU from my family to yours!! We will be seeing you again...sooner than later!!!”

“Very good first visit! We did the lunch buffet which is from 12-3 on Sundays and we got there at about 2. Not too busy. Very attentive service. Was offered fresh naan when they noticed the ones on the buffet were getting old which was very nice. Made sure we knew all they offered with their fresh dosa station. Chicken biryani was our favorite item. The samosas and butter chicken were both great. Also fun to try dishes I wouldn’t normally order. They offer a hot tea, rice pudding, and gulab jamun for dessert which all were delicious. It was $25 a person and definitely worth it.”

Some friends and myself like going to different wineries every time we have a chance and I honestly been coming back to Cassanel more than any other winery I thought I liked before. Let's begin with the staff, the amazing people who works here always welcome everyone with an amazing smile and warmth atmosphere. Theresa was the first person I meet and she is beyond amazing. Such a beautiful human being. Never been a wine person because always end up with that one wine super dry and strong flavor that I couldn't drink. The have not one wine that I can say I didn't like....but do have my favorites José Rosé and Dolce 😍😍 Yesterday (June 26, 2023) had the opportunity to meet Mr. José who's been with them for over 12 years and takes amazing care of the grapes, then got to meet Mr. Nelson (the owner) he is a wonderfu man and full fo good vibes. We had a wonderful conversation full laugh and now I understand why this winery is so amazing. 100% recommend, wines are delicious and affordable.”

The Wine Kitchen 7 S King St, Leesburg American • $$

“Long post ahead, warning! I walked in around 9 pm and the hostess didn't bat an eye at my dining alone, and didn't say anything about it, which I appreciate. I was seated right away with no problems and immediately got a chance to look over the menu. I will admit, it took a little bit longer than expected for my waiter to come over, but as a lone diner I sort of expected that. I looked like I was waiting for someone, I'm sure. The look and feel of the place was very upscale, but they didn't have any problems with me walking in wearing a nerdy t-shirt. I was seated in this cute little booth for 2 with curtains on the side so, if I wanted a more private dinner, I could have it. It was a cute touch! The restaurant also offered patio dining and since it's by the creek, that would have been a downright charming experience were it not the usual Maryland summer. Despite having a bar, the restaurant was respectably quiet and low-key, making it an easy dining experience. I wasn't in the mood for something wild, and this place really hit the nail on the head. My first waiter Kevin, however, was the picture of polite helpfulness. He answered all of my questions, made some wonderful suggestions, and was incredibly pleasant to talk to. I was delighted to find out that this place takes part in DC restaurant week, so I was able to take part in that promotion. Under a suggestion from Kevin, I ordered a glass of their moscato (I wanted something light and sweet), and the wine was so good I brought home a whole bottle. Not really on them, but it does reflect their excellent selection. Dinner itself was delicious. The red pepper soup was refreshing and flavorful, without being too filling. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection and was flavored in the perfect way to make the actual flavor of the meat shine. The potatoes were both light and fluffy, but also had the little chunks of potato that I prefer in my mashed. The best part was desert. About halfway through my appetizer, Kevin introduced my other waiter, Maddy, who took over after he went home. She was as much of a delight as he was, and made possibly the best recommendation of the night. Desert was this blackberry tart that I did not have room for but could not put down. Gooey and crumbly all at once, with a warm center that was almost caramel-y even though it was fruit based. Topped with a light cream to balance it all out, it was absolutely delicious. I will be thinking of that tart all day tomorrow. The prices on the menu were a little high, but I wouldn't go so far to say they were unreasonable. If I had wanted a cheaper option, I could have gone to any chain restaurant ever. In the grand scheme of downtown Frederick, with it's many small businesses and one of a kind dining experiences, I think this was reasonable. For reference, a lot of meals were between $20 and $30, but a good steak is almost always $30+. Despite the price, I had an exceptional dining experience, and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for upscale dining, without the upscale requirements.”

“This winery is great if you are looking for a good wine and peaceful place. It’s small but it has a great atmosphere. Their wines are excellent! I love their wine and chocolate praline tasting. We like this place for birthday parties as well as it’s usually not too crowded. Their outdoor is large with many places to sit. The indoor is small with just few tables. But as I mentioned, most of their members typically pick up their wines to go so it’s never an issue to find a spot to sit. The only negative thing I can say is that my kids don’t love going there because it’s not much to do for them, and the parking lot could use a bit of love. But we are members for about 6+ years and we truly like their wines. My family makes wines in Slovakia and I took them there as well and they enjoyed their wines a lot as well!”

“I had an event for St Patrick’s Day catered by Spanky’s Shenanigans. If 5 star is the top, this was 10 star. The food was absolutely delicious and more than plentiful. People raved about the Corner Beef and Cabbage and Fish and Chips. The food arrived in a timely fashion and was hot. Kolt the manager could not have been pleasanter or easier to work with. I look forward to future catered events with this restaurant. Cathleen”

“We visited Leesburg last month and found this gem! And now I’m back home in PA watching the snow fall, realizing we have no groceries and craving their baked goods and breakfast sandwich! We ended up visiting twice while we were in Leesburg and my only regret is not visiting a third, fourth and fifth time. I can’t remember the name of the danish I had but it was like a sweet French croissant. (Side note, we had the ham and the bacon and egg sandwiches and they were HUGE and so yummy!) 5 STARS! *****”

We will definitely be making a trip back soon!”

And the decor is fun with the records and Virginia artists and famous people all around.”
