Absolutely love visiting this place. Some incredible wings, amazing drinks and even better service. Joe is probably one of my favorite people. Great bartender and an even better person.

Excellent place, awesome food and always a lively vibe. I come here every time Iām in Leesburg Village and havenāt ever been disappointed. The bar tender Mike is awesome, very friendly, and there are a bunch of TVs, highly recommend!

Stopped in for takeout, I purchased wings and chicken quesadilla. The wings were tasty, but I wouldn't order the chicken quesadilla again. The shredded chicken was mushy and the texture was off. Wings are your best bet!

great service, great ambiance! the young employee who took our photo for us at the end when we were leaving was so sweet and offered to do so for us, great dude- hope he has a wonderful new year
I had a great time at this anchor bar! The server that was the best was Madyson. I remember her name specifically because it is Madison spelled with a Y. Overall the place was in great condition, plus I could watch the game. Wings were great šš»

Unfortunately, I fear that Anchor Bar is going downhill. Weāve been loyal patrons since they first opened, but our last 3+ experiences have been mediocre or disappointing.
On 11/28 we went to eat in the restaurant, and brought our 9 month old with us. As always, the staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, our wings & pizza took a substantially long time to arrive. When they did, the pizza we had asked for 1/2 pepperoni and 1/2 bbq was incorrect and was 1/2 buffalo chicken. Not a big deal, other than I donāt eat blue cheese, so my husband ate that half and we didnāt say anything because by that point we had been waiting so long and just wanted to eat and leave.
Then on 12/18 we placed an online order via DoorDash. Our friend ordered a steak Philly sandwich and it arrived rock hard and with NO CHEESE. I ordered the bbq chicken pizza and it had no bbq sauce on it. My husband got wings and they were almost inedible from being so overly crispy/ dry.
Finally, on 12/28 my husband and his friend went in to get the order ordered in store to go. Again, it took forever but they were happy to wait. The pizza we got at least was correct, but it was very hard and lacking flavor. Wings were fine. My husband also ordered a side of fries and asked twice at the store if they were in the bag, told they were, and arrived home to find NO fries.
I keep wanting to give chances hoping itāll be back to the quality and service it once was, but my hopes are dwindling.

Does anyone believe in cleaning tables? Weāve been here over an hour and dirty tables are left unclean. Young staff sits around chatting. Wings were dry.

We sat outside, and it was a nice night for doing that. It was busy, but we had a nice time. We got the chicken wings, which were normal, nothing special. The waitress was new so she wasnāt that great at waitressing yet. All throughout the night people were dropped off on the curb, right at the door, as thereās no parking close by. People brought their dogs. I think thatās the draw for this place is that itās dog, friendly, inside and out.

love playing trivia here every week and john is my fav server!
edit 1/22/25: unfortunately have to update to add that my group was approached at the end of trivia tonight and told that buying one beer a week each wasnt enough to play trivia. we were told it ātakes away from the atmosphere of the gameā. having signed a ten dollar check for a bold rock once a week for approx 8 months, and trying multiple menu items, i was obviously confused and disappointed by this. this week i only had water but tipped my server regardless. my friends and i were respectful and are friendly with the trivia leader - in no way did we take away from the atmosphere of the game. truthfully, i rarely order the food because it is unreliable. i have tried wings, nachos, fried zucchini, chicken tenders, and the fries/tater tots. literally the only thing i finished on any of these occasions was the fries/tater tots because itās really hard to mess those up. i will no longer be attending trivia here which is disappointing after spending so long coming here. i also donāt understand a bar that doesnāt find it appropriate for me to come in and buy a drink once a week. the whole conversation would likely have left less of a negative impression if the delivery had been more personable but i lowkey felt like a kid at the principalās office lol. bye anchor bar. still love the server john though heās so nice!!
edit 8/14: the reply to this tells you everything you need to know about the service at this place! the word bar is literally in the name⦠anchor BAR⦠i ordered drinks AT THE BARā¦. and tipped multiple dollars for each drink⦠fix your food and attitude and iām sure your business would improve!
