The chips and salsa is GREAT! The shredded chicken is also great. The service is good. The beer is good. The beef is what caused my “beef”. The shredded beef is unnaturally bland. The beef was so bland I feel like I need to get tested for COVID tomorrow. The ground beef is worse than Taco Bell. Also, the hard shell for my beef taco and beef tostada were so soggy that I had to eat both items with a fork.I would eat here again if chicken was the only meat on the menu or if the beef quality improves by orders of magnitude.

Meal was good. Ambience ok. Shout to service. Hector was very good, smiled, and brought food in timely manner. Not to be critical, but the entertainment featured a singer whose voice was strong and polished. But sounded to much of a lounge act with phrasing that was too long. Songs were sung way too slow for my enjoyment and began grating on my nerves. 1st time there. Chips were thick and unsatisfactory. More along lines of Taco Bell. Will go back but no urgency to go back. Salsa should be better.

Wife and I had dinner there on 3/29/2024. She had the Enchiladas El Jefe, Carne asada, grilled corn, onions. They were tasty but the meat was bland and overcooked. The queso fresco was so so. The side of rice was very good. I had the fried chicken combo. It was a fried chicken burrito and a fried chicken flaunta. To be clear, it's not fried chicken inside, the who item is fried. The chicken in both entrees was tender but lacked flavor. The queso fresco was nice and creamy but lacked any real flavor. The refried beans were bland. The side of rice was the best tasting item on my plate. Over the dish lacked seasoning and flavor. For a Mexican theme restaurant, our dishes lacked seasoning and flavor. The chips and salsa were average, nothing special. Our server was very attentive. When the side, the rice, is the best part of the meal, something is wrong.

Service: I placed a To Go order with the establishment and was told my meal would be ready at 7:10 pm. I got there a little later than that. After giving my first and last name, they said my food was still cooking. I asked 4 different staff members about my order. Low and behold it was up front the whole time. The person with me even agreed that I gave my full name. So I was there for about 20 minutes and by the time I got the food home, it was cold. Staff members need to ask for the first and last name. Maybe even ask again to be sure. I gave both and sat around for nothing. I was more upset that I stared at the bags myself for 20 minutes and the employees kept telling me my food was still cooking. No one even apologized and they were dismissive.Food: To top it off my fiancé found half a toothpick in his meal! He bit into it and it came out of his mouth in wooden slivers. Mine was ok, but there was a giant piece of chicken skin at the bottom of my tray. The beans and rice had no flavor. The only decent thing we ordered was the salsa. I understand that restaurants get busy (and we left a generous tip on the To Go order), but please give a bit more service to everyone. Whether we're eating there, or grabbing something to carryout. We won't be back anytime soon.

Good place to eat. The food was ok, The place was very clean but the service was lacking. We felt forgotten about during our visit and ended up just going up front to pay for our food. I dont know if the waiters' shift ended or what.

Most of our group ordered margaritas of some sort. I never saw a menu, but this is a normal size margarita for a Mexican restaurant. If there are 2 sizes, this is the larger size in the glass that is shaped like a bowl. I know at Uncle Julios, you can get these for $5-8 at happy hour, but typically they are $8-12 at most places. My margarita was a "skinny" and apparently those cost 50% more. The same price as my meal- $18! Me and my daughter each bought a meal, a drink, and shared a dessert with our group. Our bill was $84! For Mexican food! I was flabbergasted. The waiter could have mentioned the cost of the drinks, but that's my fault in the end. I wanted to warn you that you'll be paying up at this Mexican restaurant. ps. My fish tacos were decent, I'd rate them a C+. My daughter's mole enchiladas were also a C+. I'm not going back. Live and learn, and that's fine. Just giving you a head's up.

I went here on 1/30/24 with two other people The food was good (birria tacos) but service was kind of odd. Our waitress would only look at one specific person in our party even if she was talking to someone else. To the point where the person she was looking at said she felt uncomfortable whenever she came to the table (she would get uncomfortably close to her). When it came time to pay, we asked that she split the check three ways. The checks were separated correctly but I later noticed my card was swiped once and inserted once (this was specified on my bank statement). I called and requested a refund because I was not able to get in touch with the person whose meal had been charged to my card. I was told I would be given a refund after multiple conversations with staff on behalf of the manager. This was on 2/1/24. I noticed today (2/19/24) the refund still had not gone through. I called and the manager could not speak to me again, but I spoke to another staff member who initially said the manager told her that I had already received a refund in cash. I informed her this was a flat out lie or she had me confused with someone else. I was then told I would need to go back in person to get the refund. I expressed how I felt that was unprofessional since i was told it would be taken care of weeks ago.As of right now, I’m waiting for a call back. I’ve provided my name, the date I was there, the waitress’ name and the last 4 digits of my debit card. I don’t understand what the hold up is when you have electronic records.Note- the staff have been very polite. The issue is the waitress we had honestly made us uncomfortable, made what was probably an honest mistake, and now management doesn’t feel like fixing the mistake.UPDATE (3/10/24) I emailed like instructed in the response to this review and have heard NOTHING. I will never return to this place and will advise people to not go and waste their money and be charged extra

We stumbled upon this place trying to satisfy our Mexican food cravings. The service was great at Plaza Azteca. I ordered the Carne Asada plate and I was not disappointed! The steak was amazing and the beans and rice on the side were delicious! My girlfriend got the Birria tacos and this being her first time trying them she said they were delicious. Will definitely be coming back here more often!

I leave this review because I just wanted to say thank you to the staff at Plaza Azteca. Yesterday I was there with a very good atmosphere and also live music. I also wanted to make a recommendation for the person who served us, a very kind and friendly girl, her name is Nicole, her service was very good and fast.
