Visited Kenney's while traveling from Washington D.C. to North Carolina. It was easy enough to get to off of 81 and equally as easy to get back to 81 after your meal. It was a Friday at lunchtime and there was almost a line out the door. The line moved relatively quickly. I'll say it is kinda hard to see the whole menu from the far right side of the counter where you place your order. The order process itself is quick and easy then grab a seat and wait for your order to be called. This is one of those places where they shout your whole order to the restaurant when it is ready so...just be aware. LOL I got a snack pak with mac and cheese and a hot dog with chili and mustard. The hot dog was pretty basic but good. Chili was slightly sweet and the bun was super soft. In the snack pack, I got a wing and a big thigh, mac and cheese, and a biscuit with honey. The mac and cheese was ok. This is runny mac and I prefer mac that holds its shape a bit more. Also, the side serving is pretty small. The biscuit is not what I'd typically call a biscuit but it was good especially with the provided honey. The meal so far would just be three stars but the fried chicken took this up a whole extra star. That's great fried chicken. Incredibly well-seasoned and SO crispy. I will definitely be getting Kenney's next time I'm passing through Lexington.

I was excited to stop here after seeing the Yelp reviews. But I was quickly disappointed. The serving size was ridiculously small, it's says 1 big & 1 small piece with their 2pc, it was a leg & a thigh, I would've thought for the price it would've been a breast. The side was like a shot glass. The biscuit was greasy & tiny. Everything lacked flavor. The chicken tastes like a frozen product. It must be a local thing. Very disappointing!! Don't waste your money! The guy at the counter seemed annoyed. The place was run down, lacking any type of life. Very old decor, needs to be refurbished. Very pricy!

Ok so every time we get chicken it's over cooked and for the price it should be fresh!! We lost one Kenny's and this one chicken is never ever as good as bv. Hard and overcooked both times we got food from there.we have no good places to get good chicken and definitely not kfc

I love their food . Nothing like the sauce burger with cheese and the hotdog with cheese and chili . I go there and get 3 of each and my wife loved the chicken sandwich. My beautiful wife of 35 years passed away 5 months ago and I have some great memories of me and her eating there . It's not a fancy place but is fine to just sit and eat great food .
That chicken dinner is finger licking. Got one two nights ago with a smo burger and a shake.

You know how sometimes you just need a break from your controlled diet? Come here. Just get the chicken snack pack, 2 pieces of chicken(upgrade to white meat if you like), a biscuit and a side. The coleslaw is southern perfection without those pesky celery seeds, and the fried chicken is ideal. You will not regret the diversion! I forgot to take a pic until halfway through the meal, sorry! The portions were more than ample!

This is our dinner from this place and trust me when I say it's better then KFC because it's what we like to call "fast fine dining"
