Food was mostly terrible (except for the wine and appetizers) and it was overpriced and service was a bit slow but friendly and they were following COVID-19 guidelines. Note to self, when I ordered steak and potatoes, the steak came out rare when I requested medium cooked and the potatoes were slightly undercooked. And I am no fan of Trump (at least not anymore) but even I think the owner's decision to kick out Sarah Huckabee Sanders let alone harass/stalk Sarah Huckabee Sanders was a terrible decision by the owner. The owner has to understand something: she is supposed to serve all customers [even the ones who disagree with her politically and (as long as the customers are not rude)]. The customers are paying her and her employees to serve food for them and not some political agenda. Avoid this place if you are a conservative. Heck, the Shooter's grill in Colorado is more welcoming to liberals than the Red Hen in Virginia (should be called the Blue Hen or the Left Hen) is welcoming to conservatives.

I was more than happy to march by this dump on Lee Jackson Day with my beautiful Army of Northern Virginia flag and see a "closed" sign on it. Good riddance.

Unprofession server. The owner started yelling at someone outside, totally not cool, felt unsafe around the people like the owner. We walked out.

Stopped for dinner a few weeks before they closed. Food was very good, as was the service. I must be going nose blind because I didn't smell anything other than the food. And my oh my, look at all the Trumpy snowflakes getting their knickers in a twist over something that happened five years ago. I doubt 90% of them ever set foot in here and just wanted to pout.Good luck with the new lanch!

The Red Hen is/was a delightful restaurant with some of the highest quality food in Lexington. Not only did I enjoy my meal but the staff treated us like family. It was reasonably priced and my pleasure to try it before it closed likely as a result of angry adults, hundreds of miles away, with nothing better to do than review bomb a small business in a relatively poor part of Our Country.I hope that the people who create fake google accounts and who hide behind their computer screens grow up and spend their lives doing something more productive. How would you feel if someone attacked your family member's business due to political resentment? So childish and mean spirited.I will miss having this restaurant to take my family and friends to for a nice meal.

A delightful experience from beginning to end. I enjoyed their 4 course menu which was obviously created with love including the poached pear salad, lobster bisque, filet mignon, and olive oil cake. My server, also delightful, recommended a scotch cocktail which was fabulous. I also tried their cardamom old fashioned and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was too. Great job Red Hen family! Thanks for a lovely evening!

The food was decent, well overpriced for the “quality” but was decent. What made the experience intolerable was the horrible attitude of seemingly everyone working here. It reminded me of the snotty attitude one often encounters at European restaurants. Our waiter was especially arrogant and I am forced to speculate, if he considers himself so superior to the customers, then how come we are the ones sitting down!

I was kind of surprised. I was driving through and heard good things about this place. The steak was pretty average, and the server was pretty rough. Not going back there for sure.

A couple of weeks ago I was driving through Lexington, VA on my way to Charlotte, VA when my girlfriend decided to stop for dinner. We both had the Salmon Vierge. It seemed a little off, so we politely removed it from our mouth and asked for our bill. We paid and left. We will not return.

This place is a joke, so glad they are going out of business. Stay out of politics when you own/run a restaurant/business. Stick to what you know to be successful.
