Time cafe’s staff were really friendly to first timer and they thoroughly explained the menu and made some really great recommendations! Really impressed with their vegetable combo this is definitely a must-try!

I went to Time Café and asked the waitress for a Perrier to drink, but they told me to get it from the refrigerator myself. Both the man and the female waitress were talking and ignoring customers. It felt like they refused to serve me because they assumed I wouldn’t leave a tip. The staff were not welcoming at all. I’m not sure if the female owner is aware, but the service has gotten really bad lately.

Best Ethiopian food I've had in DC. Perfect shiro, injera, and kik alicha. The prices are bit lower than some other Ethiopian spots, and this was the best meal I've had in a long time, thank you!

I ordered Derek Tibs to go and it cost me about $18. This is by far the worst Derek Tibs in Virginia. The onions and peppers were completely burnt as you can see and it was hard to eat. I would have returned it had I known but I opened the box after 40 minutes driving home unfortunately. The server also told me they didn't have some of the other Tibs I wanted on the menu like the Chikina.

I don't normally write reviews for restaurants but I ordered their food from uber eats and I put in the notes how i wanted the food specifically. Normally places do not look at the notes that I wrote but they did and gave me everything that I asked for. The even separated the food for me in containers. The injera was nice and soft and the food was cooked to perfection. They also had my food done within 45 minutes of ordering. I def will be ordering from here again and I appreciate the food and the service!

I was 9 months pregnant I ordered cooked Awaze Yebere tibs and when I got home it was raw beef with onions. Also when I ordered it was 10:30 am when they were not busy only one person was there, how in the world can you get my order wrong. The person who took my order was the owner by the way. On top of that I took a taxi to get there and spent more money with taxi to go back. I told them my situation and they still didn’t give me refund. Poor customer service, and listening skills. It’s best for you to choose another Ethiopian resturuant to dine and take out.

I ordered ahead on their website for a pick-up order. Said it was confirmed. I arrive there at the time that the food should be ready, only to be told that they didn't have the meat that my dish required (lamb), but that they had beef. I was told it would be 20 mins, so I just left. Website should be updated or I should at least get a call if an ingredient is not available smh.
Shame because I've been wanting to try Ethiopian food in Alexandria since I moved here.
