Nice enough for the ambiance. Would not do separate checks for a group, which is fine, but then did not bring out glasses ordered in the very group order taken. Get it, eventually asked about it then received glasses. Later asked about two bottles sitting there and told that we ordered them (the two glass orders) which we did not but I was prepared to just pay for. Then ended up paying for the large group and did not receive an itemized receipt even. I can understand sticking to not allowing different payments but if you’re going to do that at lease have prompt service and provide itemized receipt. I had to wait forever then was responsible for two bottles of wine that I absolutely did not want especially because the wine is so so. Otherwise nice enough but will not return ever.

We were excited to visit Fox Meadow Winery and made the hour-long drive with plans to enjoy a bottle of wine and some light snacks we brought, fully expecting to sit in the designated picnic area as per their outside food policy. Unfortunately, shortly after we arrived, a heavy storm rolled in. We asked if we could sit on the covered deck — which was nearly empty — just to stay dry while we enjoyed our wine and snacks. But even with the place largely unoccupied and the weather pouring down, there was absolutely no flexibility. We were told we had to stay in the picnic area, which only had a leaky canopy, and we ended up getting soaked. We completely respect house rules, but a little understanding and hospitality — especially in extreme weather with no crowd — would have made all the difference. The setting is lovely, but the rigid approach left us cold (and wet).

Beautiful views. Lovely laid back vibe. I really enjoyed the music. Warm service, kind staff. Sizeable selection of wines. I sincerely enjoyed this visit and would absolutely revisit.

Came twice on our trip. Great service. One time we went to the counter, other time was table service. Had a food truck one day plus small snacks at the winery. Flights were excellent price and the wine was great!

Nope! ⸻ I stopped by for the first time after spotting a lobster food truck that looked promising for lunch and to be fair, the food truck did not disappoint. Unfortunately, the experience at the venue itself was a different story. The property was unkempt and gave off an unwelcoming vibe. What truly sealed the negative experience was an interaction with a woman who appeared to be the owner. She questioned the drink I had just purchased from the food truck, implying it looked “suspicious.” I told her it was root beer, but she continued to watch me and even followed me as I left. It was invasive and off-putting. If you’re looking for a pleasant afternoon or quality wine, this is not the place. You’re better off taking your appetite — and your business — elsewhere.

I cannot share enough good things about the experience we had at Fox Meadow. My partner and I visited on a Tuesday afternoon as we were traveling through, based on a recommendation of my sister in law, who is a member of the wine club.

We each had separate wine flights so we could sample more of the wines, and one of the owners Amanda was the one who served us and talked through all the wines. She was delightful in sharing her passion for the wines produced onsite as well as other Virginian wines.

We sat outside on the patio overlooking the mountains for a beautiful afternoon. After sampling the wines, we simply couldn’t leave without buying several bottles to take home.

If you’re in the area, this has to be a stop in. Our favorites are the Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and the Rose. The wine was so good, we forgot to snap a pic with the glasses full.

Thank you again for a wonderful afternoon and beautiful hospitality.

Fox Meadow is a wonderful winery with great mountain views. They have ample seating inside and outside on their deck and picnic areas. The food is also very good, with our favorite being the pretzel sticks with pimento cheese. We're excited to go back!

Always Amazing! Manda and Whitaker are the best hosts! I have been to a few other wine and food pairings, and they do not compare with the experience we get at Fox Meadow. The pairings are always on point and the education we receive from Manda each time is exceptional! If you want a memorable experience, this is the place to be!

Beautiful winery with mountain views. The flights were reasonably priced and the local cheese spread was divine!

This is my happy place. The wine is good, the people are friendly and the views are exquisite. It’s only an hour 20 from DC but it’s gorgeous and relaxing. It’s currently owned by Amanda and Whitaker who are down-to-earth and are constantly working to make the place as comfortable and welcoming as possible. I also love their snack menu - the baguettes and cheese selections were what really sealed the deal for me when I became a member 2+ years ago, and I haven’t regretted it for a single moment. Highly recommend.

We had the most fantastic wine dinner at Foxmeadow! The owners couldn’t have been more welcoming and gracious. The wine was excellent, the food delicious, and the setting unsurpassed. A truly memorable experience!!

Although this may be a beautiful winery, we were greeted at 4:15, with a sorry folks we close at 5:00 and last call is in 15 min. … we asked about a tastings and told they do table side service, so we walked ourselves out on the deck to find no tables availabale. The place was packed, for a dinner event at 5:00?
I’m not sure but we felt very unwelcomed and left…
