I'm ashamed to admit and disappointed in myself that it took me nearly 6 years to finally try 1836 Kitchen and Taproom. The beer list is awesome. The food is fantastic. Kick-butt cocktails. The atmosphere is equally awesome with so many different seating areas that there wasn't a wait on a Friday at 6. Try the peanut butter and jelly sour - it's like a liquid uncrustable.
Spent my youth working in a steakhouse in northern Wisconsin and had a better experience. At 65, I know the order of things. We ordered drinks and waters. Drinks came and 10 minutes later watched our waitress rolling napkins and silverware and no waters. Had to ask another server for them. Made our food order and had our mains come out before salads. Order and bill was not correct and had to talk with waitress to get resolved.

Meals were excellent. Nashville chicken sandwich and a french dip. Service was not particularly attentive, but alternative servers could be waved down. Ambience was nice, but loud. Lacking soft materials to dampen the noise.
