Super delicious Mexican restaurant. It tasted great. I had the Chori Pollo. Excellent ! The ambience isn't that nice, but the tasty food makes up for it.

Husband stopped by after work ordered 4 orders of tacos each with 5 tacos of carne asada and chorizo, paid over $100. After paying went to ask how much one order of tacos came out to be because it seemed too pricey the guys who was helping him didn't seem to have a answer for him and kept telling him he got a better deal the way they took his order after a while they ended up giving him a total and said that each order came out to be about $30 for each order of tacos. That's the most expensive order of tacos him and I have EVER heard of from anywhere around here and that's considering my husband works out if state and travels a lot. After calling the restaurant some guy answered and after asking if he advised my husband of the extra charge he said no and the menu was online that it was up to the customers to look at the menu and that it wasn't his fault if people couldn't read to see the prices.

I'm a semi-local. Sometimes I'm there sometimes I'm not. Anyway, I had a bad experience with quality of food there over a year ago and decided to go back. Something is different. The Birra Tacos were amazing and the vibe of the place has changed for the better. Could be an isolated incident but I really enjoyed the food and beer and I WILL be back. Prices also are reasonable. Check it out!

We were passing through Lovingston today and stopped at El Mariachi on a whim. It was great!! All the food was great, very fresh, and nice open seating too. If I'm being honest the service could have been a hint more attentive. But overall it was a great experience and we'll definitely keep it in mind the next time we're in the Lovingston area.Kid-friendliness: They had at least one highchair which was good since we needed one. The men's bathroom did not have a changing table which would have been helpful.

They brought out all food except my 4 year Olds, at which point they said the Mac n cheese she ordered was bad.Got my margarita when food came 15 mins after ordering, only due to asking where it was.Way to skimpy on the cheese on the nachos. At the end I had dry plain chips.

Nice server. But the food was bland. The meat was fixed with no salt or seasoning. The beans were plain. No seasoning. I would not recommend.

I don't know what happened, but the food has really gone down hill starting around Spring of 2023. I just tried it again after not going here for 3 months and it's still bad. It's overly salty, sad dishes with dried-out almost crunchy rice and generally messed up orders (I specifically ask for chicken on two dishes and got beef on both) my wife who is a pescatarian and used to love the vege enchiladas (last two times she got it the only vege were sad canned mushrooms) and the arroz con camaron (this time no sauce). We used to get your food around 2-3 times a month but now we're afraid to try anymore. What happened guys? Service is still great, I hoped it was just that the chief went on a long summer vacation but no, it's still bad. Please make you food better once again, I love having a local Mexican place but I am now forced to go to Charlottesville.I'm sure we'll try again in several months when we feel like gambling again and are feeling too lazy to cook, please go back to making delicious food again.

As isolated location but we found this restaurant to be authentic. Not blown away by the appearance and the food was hit or miss. The meal did take awhile, but the servers were very nice. I would still recommend to check it out as this seems to be the only mexican restaurant in the area. We enjoyed the tacos and fajitas ( not the burrito nor Chile Relleno); though they had a huge menu to try. FYI: The dips for the chips were just ok ( runny) and beans lacked a lot of flavor.
