I had a very disturbing experience of being talked to extremely rude to yesterday, when I stopped in for breakfast, with my Cockapoo, who IS a Service dog & is allowed to go anywhere I'm alowed...had the nerve to ask me WHAT my disability was !!! Which is ILLEGAL!
THEN proceeded to tell me she did not BELIEVE she was a service dog! I even showed her my dogs ID card w her picture on it , she was blatantly rude to me, I'm sure she was the owner..
I will tell Everybody I know about her....she should Never be allowed to run a business !
three of my family members were Resturant owners, & they would NEVER have spoke to a customer in that manner.
I have NEVER been refused service in the 3 yrs I've had my dog...shes been in MANY restaurants & in every store I've been in...
this was not only unacceptable behavior on the owners part, but very ignorant & unkind....I've never eaten here & ONLY because of her
disrespecting attitude, I would never refer anyone to give her any business.
maybe it's time she retires if she treats other customers like this
p.s. I know this is petty, but if you're going to work in public place , you should care about your appearance,
her teeth almost took my appetite,

There isn't a lot of breakfast options in the area, but food was mediocre at best - between ordering off the menu and buffet, i think you should get the buffet as you don't have to wait for them and it can be a very long wait for not much better quality. There's a sign at checkout that says "20% is a standard tip but feel free to tip more if you want" something to that effect - that just really bothers me about this place - They missed something we ordered, didn't bring us enough napkins/forks, I had to go get my own ketchup, never filled our coffee. I just don't think that's a good thing to put at the checkout for a place with this level of service/food. I would go elsewhere if possible.

Very casual, you don't really feel welcome, but rather dismissed, little communication, small portions, no mention of a 4% credit card surcharge. We wouldn't go there again.

Got a bbq plate...tasted like canned, very smoochy & way too sweet! Green beans were good. Service was good. Guess I'll try another choice of food next time. Nice atmosphere.

We arrived in Luray on a Friday night and decided to go to Brookside Restaurant for dinner as it was close to where were staying. Great decision! The people/ staff were so friendly and joking with our rowdy crowd (11 of us) which made for a fun time. The food was great! If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely return.

We have been a customer Brookside for many years. Even to bring visiting family for a special treat to the moutains of Luray. However, sad to say this, our last visit there was a great disapointment. The food had no taste, the buffet needed more attention, overall pricing, unafordable, compared to similar restaurants. We can not recomend eating there. Service however was very friendly and attentive.

The restaurant is quaint, the staff are super friendly and sweet and food was honestly yummy! As a vegetarian I often struggle to find good things to eat on the menu but Brookside delivered! The prices were very reasonable, we would definitely come here again.

The food at this place is absolutely remarkable. We got the seafood platter, chicken fried steak, and blackberry cobbler (a MUST have). Everything was outstanding, absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Our waitress (Rebecca) was especially friendly. This place is a must when you are in the area!
