Overall, I think this is a good restaraunt. We were able to eat during the Christmas Eve special, after being placed on the waitlist. The selection was good, however the food was average. We had a couple minor issues (the tea cup had too much soap residue in it and the bottom of my lasagna was too tough. The guests around us also had issues such as overcooked apatezers or cold food, but the waitress was very attentive and addressed everything quickly. The prices were appropriate.

For travelers and local residents craving a gourmet DC / Northern Virginia type cuisine, Moonshadows is the location. Their servers are friendly and professional. Cuisine / food is amazing. Everything is 5 stars. Psst... try the Apple Cider Mimosa. Also, call for a reservation... this place is a gem.

If you come to Luray and miss eating at Moonshadows, you've missed a great experience. We had a lovely evening with friends. My friend is latex intolerant and has an allergy, the staff graciously accommodated her. Food was excellent and our service with Missy was superior.

Thanksgiving dinner was very special this year as we visited Luray VA. We had advanced reservations with the Owner whom was very attentive to every detail. Her staff was amazing, personal attention from the beginning, and dinner was phenomenal. Our dinner included app, soup, overflowing Turkey dinner, dessert, and warmed bread. We had wonderful drinks and coffee as well. Thank you for your hospitality and for our memorable delicious dinner.

Visited the restaurant for Thanksgiving with friends. Beautiful atmosphere. Our waitress, Jen, was very attentive and knew her stuff. The food was beyond amazing. Seriously wonderful, uniquely delicious pairings of flavors in every dish. Buttery, tender oysters. Creamy, flavorful butternut soup. Melt-in-your-mouth beer-brined turkey. Flavorful braised red cabbage. Fluffy mashed potatoes, crunchy-tender green beans. And more. All followed by a light, airy pumpkin mousse — perfect after such a filling meal. Afterwards, I was pleasantly surprised to see their menu available online. And that it also changes with the season. Such attention to detail! This wasn’t just a meal. This was a whole experience. Keep up the excellent work. I’ll be back!

Moonshadows Restaurant was one of our favorite meals of this year! Me and my mom thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered - our plates were clean. Even got to meet the chef, John, who is extremely talented :) Can't wait to eat in the beautiful patio area once it gets warmer.

The service was impeccable, food delicious and their beet salad was divine. Had their special and it was tasty and cooked perfectly. Definitely will return. Quite reasonable prices as well. Highly recommend- good to make reservations too.

We really enjoyed our dinner celebrating my birthday at Moonshadows! Essence was our server and she was exceptional!! She really made our experience wonderful. She was genuine, upbeat, and very pleasant. She aline gets 5 stars and I wish I encountered more people like her everyday. The food was delicious. We had the beet salad, crayfish soup, local steak entree, and salmon entree. All was very good. The limeade was different, but absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back when we're in the area.

During our trip to Luray, Va for some winery tours and leaf peeping we made a reservation for dinner at Moonshadows. We are so glad we did! The decor is perfect with moon themed artwork throughout the very clean and modern restaurant. The menu had something for everyone and the food was amazing. We had the autumn squash soup, spinach salad and brined roasted chicken -- perfection! If you are in the area, don't miss this gem!

This place was on my list and I’m glad we made it! Such a cute, historic place. They have a limited menu but it’s totally worth it. They have an executive chef that knows his stuff! Everything from the food, services, atmosphere, table set up, was AMAZING!

Be sure not to miss a meal at this lovely restaurant. The food and service were both excellent. Make a reservation because each night it is full to capacity.

This place was on my list and I’m very glad we made it! Located in a revamped, historic house. Everything was superb, the food, atmosphere, services, to the table set up.

We were tired and hungry after a wonderful tour of Luray Caverns. Driving around town left us thinking we’d never find a nice place to relax. Then we came upon MOONSHADOWS Restaurant on East Main St. Imagine our delight at finding a Sunday Brunch with gourmet vegan options. It was perfect. Thank you Chef Miss for divinely inspired dishes.

If you want something closer to fine dining with a chef, Moonshadows is one of only two places I know of in the area. With that said, I always eat here when visiting. The menu changes but the atmosphere does not. It’s clean, upscale but casual. Service is fast and friendly. There is nothing over $30 with an average around $20. If you are planning to visit the area make sure to get a reservation! In many cases they won’t take walk-ins. With their reputation they have a full table rotation schedule and, from what I can tell, are ready for people when they show. No waiting. This is the kk d of place where jeans and clean tshirt is fine but if you want a date night dressing up won’t be out of place either. During the spring/summer months there is a great outdoor eating area.
