Absolutely amazing. Food was perfect as always. Servers were kind and checking up just the right amount of time for it to be not annoying but also not sparse. Servers are quick and respectful even during a rush. The servers even help during the first time I was there and had no idea what I was doing with the stove. Cordogs and mochi donuts and tea are amazing. Would recommend for everyone. If I could give 6 stars I absolutely would. Perfect job everyone.

Guys, this is so amazing.
Went here with my husband and my friend. This was our first experience and omg. So great. The whole atmosphere was lovely. We didn’t get the cook top table. But had lunch. And it was so yummy!!! Our waitress was very helpful, answered all our questions. We will definitely be back again.

We spent our Sunday lunch at Koreanz BBQ, and it turned out to be quite an experience.

To start, we ordered the egg rolls and tuna kimbap. The egg rolls were fried crispy without being greasy, and they definitely didn’t disappoint. The tuna kimbap was also delicious and a great way to begin the meal.

For our main course, we ordered the Chicken Katsu Jungsik and the Original Fried Chicken. The chicken katsu came with cream soup and salad. The chicken itself was fried nicely and served with gravy that made it very flavorful and satisfying. The cream soup, however, was a bit too sweet for my taste.

The fried chicken wings were crispy, but they were lacking flavor and had an overwhelming oiliness. Without the honey mustard sauce, they would have been quite bland.

Before the main courses were served, we were given banchan—six small plates of side dishes. These complemented the meal well and were especially good with the rice. Honestly, I think I could just order banchan and rice and be perfectly happy.

The portion sizes of the entrees were huge. Two people could easily share one entrée. Overall, the chicken katsu and the banchan were the highlights of the lunch.

The service was nice, and the place was clean. The booth seating also felt very private, which made the dining experience more comfortable.

Overall, it was a nice experience. They also offer self-grilling at the table, which we’re looking forward to trying next time.

Most authentic K BBQ outside of NYC I've found. Meat was marinated well and excellent cuts. Banchan was fire. Homemade kimchi is phenomenal, atmosphere is delightful, and service exquisite. Our server Adelle was awesome. Do yourself a favor and get over here on an empty stomach.

The one star is only because I have previously had a good experience here before, but my most recent visit was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I wanted to make sure that if we ordered a certain amount of meat to grill then we would get the sides, so I asked our waitress (granted she seemed new). She told me that we would receive sides and then brought our meat out after ordering. After waiting around for about 10-15 minutes without her coming back again, we finally got her attention and asked her if the sides would be coming out soon. She replied that she was going to check the back for the sides. Another 20-25 minutes go by without a word, and we are almost finished with the 2 different meats that we ordered without seeing her again. We finally get her attention and ask her about the sides which she replied with, “Actually, I asked my manager and you don’t get sides, but I guess I can order them and put them on my PERSONAL card.” I just replied with we were fine and didn’t need the sides. I understand being a new server. It’s not easy, but she left us hanging for the entirety of our meal and we even had a hard time paying for the bill since she just focused on the other table and neglected us. Not to mention the other servers seemed to be looking at our table quite a bit, which just made me feel like I had done something wrong when I was just looking forward to eating the side dishes.

I’ve never felt so disappointed and awkward at a meal out before or felt the need to leave a bad review, but something needed to be said. I really just wanted to have a nice meal with my partner who traveled into town to spend time with me for my birthday, and it just ended up being very disappointing…

Update after reading response: We were never given any sides at all. We never asked for egg or soybean paste stew. Only thing we asked for additional was the rice and that was after we started our meal. Our meal consisted of ONLY meat and the $3 single serve bowl of rice that we paid for.

I travel over an hour to eat here. It’s always fresh, tasty, and a friendly environment. Their Bibimbap portions are insane. You are buying two meals. Their chicken wings are from another planet, and their Katsu Chicken makes my soul reach new heights. If you like Korean, you’ll love it. If you’ve never had Korean, your mind will be blown. 5 Stars!

Worth the Detour! Best Authentic Korean Food We’ve Had in Rural Virginia – A True Hidden Gem!

We were driving from Shenandoah National Park down to Charlotte on a cold day, with my young daughter, wife, and mother-in-law. Craving warm, comforting Korean food, my wife spotted Koreanz K-BBQ & Korean Comfort Food on Google Maps and insisted we make the detour to Lynchburg – and wow, it was 100% worth the extra drive!

We ordered the Seafood Green Onion Pancake (haemul pajeon), Tonkatsu, Budae Jjigae, Stone Pot Bibimbap (dolsot bibimbap), and Shrimp Tempura. Everything was incredible and brought back memories of eating in Korea – it nearly brought tears to my eyes from pure nostalgia and joy!

1. The pajeon was absolute perfection: super crispy on the outside, soft and juicy inside with loads of fresh seafood and green onions.
2. The budae jjigae had that deep, bold, spicy flavor (a bit salty, but in the best addictive way).
3. Tonkatsu was shatteringly crunchy yet tender and nutty.
4. The dolsot bibimbap was the textbook example of classic Korean comfort – perfectly balanced, sizzling hot with that delicious crispy rice crust.
5. My daughter demolished the shrimp tempura (wouldn’t share even one!) and kept saying it was the best she’s ever had – light, crispy, and not greasy at all.

The flavors struck an amazing balance: purely authentic Korean taste with just the right subtle touches that make it shine here in the States. In the middle of Virginia’s countryside, finding this level of top-tier Korean cuisine feels almost unbelievable – easily the best in the region for genuine home-style and comfort dishes.

If you’re anywhere near Lynchburg (or even passing through like we were) and want real Korean food that hits every nostalgic note, this is a must-visit – no question the top Korean spot around! Warm and welcoming service, generous portions, and a cozy vibe that felt like home. We’ll be planning future detours just for Koreanz. Highly recommend! 🇰🇷❤️
(Pro tip: Come hungry and try as many dishes as you can – you won’t regret it!)
