I walked into her shop for the first time, hoping to grab a last minute birthday cake for a friend. She had sold out of all ready-made cakes, minus one she had put together for someone. That person walked out on her while she was making it, and it ended up being a blessing from the universe! The owner was incredibly hospitable and friendly— and her cakes are phenomenal! I’ve been in the shop a few other times and can attest that the cupcakes and macarons are also delish!

POOR SERVICE AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

New to the area - my daughter accepted a position to teach at Randolph, and I walked into this shop, merely to just check it out and see what she has because we love sweets. She literally freaked out on me because I had my 14 lb (emotional support) Yorkie in my ARMS, saying “It freaks me out for dogs to be in my shop!” Guess she just lost out on much potential business! If you’re trying yo promote a business, that’s no way to deal with potential customers! No tact whatsoever! I cannot comment on the food because I didn’t even get a chance to look at what she had! Love me, love my dog! 🐶

Go ahead and try to have it removed, but I’ve seen other negative reviews here, and one was similar to mine, about a dog. I will just repost again because people need to know when people are animal haters. Instead of welcoming me to the area and your shop, you reacted to my (very clean) Yorkie as if he had the plague! Perhaps you should take a class in business etiquette!

Very nice atmosphere and most of the treats were delicious! Not the most accessible, due to lack of allowance of service animals in the shop. Otherwise so lovely! Can’t recommend the donut enough!

Mrs. Joy's has absolutely the best, flavorful and moist cupcakes you will EVER have! We have also tried a number of other treats from her bakery and I can honestly say that you won't go wrong with whatever you choose from her bakery. Give this small business your support!

Picture this: It’s a Saturday evening, and I’ve just wrapped up a performance alongside the talented Matthew Billings. We’re riding that post-show high, and our stomachs are chiming in with a chorus of grumbles. Enter Mrs. Joy’s “Joy & Soul” event—a soirée that promises not just food, but an experience.

Walking into Mrs. Joy’s is like stepping into a warm hug. The ambiance is intimate, the kind of setting where you half-expect your grandma to pop out with a tray of cookies. The air is filled with the sweet symphony of baked goods, each note more enticing than the last.

Now, let’s talk food. The dinner selections were nothing short of a culinary mixtape—each dish a hit, no skips. From savory starters to decadent desserts, every bite was a testament to the art of soul food. It’s the kind of cooking that makes you close your eyes and hum in appreciation, a melody only good food can elicit.

But here’s the kicker: Mrs. Joy herself. This woman is the maestro behind the magic, orchestrating flavors with the finesse of a seasoned conductor. Her passion infuses every morsel, turning a simple meal into a soulful journey. And let’s not forget her accolades—winning the Food Network’s Christmas Cookie Challenge isn’t just a notch on her apron; it’s a testament to her culinary prowess.

As the evening unfolded, it became clear that this wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience. The combination of delectable dishes, cozy ambiance, and soulful music created a tapestry of joy and contentment. It’s the kind of place that beckons you to return, not just for the food, but for the feeling it evokes.

In conclusion, if you find yourself in Lynchburg and your soul is in need of a little nourishment, make your way to Mrs. Joy’s Absolutely Fabulous Treats. Whether you’re there for the colossal cinnamon rolls, the warm community vibe, or an event that feeds both body and spirit, you’re in for a treat that’s, well, absolutely fabulous!!!

If her baking can't win you over, Mrs. Joy is a beam of light! She is so welcoming and friendly and her cinnamon rolls will blow you away. I don't even like cinnamon and I couldn't get enough. Macrons were perfect and moist and I am looking forward to another Jazz & Soul night!

Got my daughters each a cupcake for a special treat, they both ate their cupcake in no time and said it was perfect! The customer service was also amazing! We will be back sooner than later!

I was looking for a local bakery to grab a few cupcakes for my mom’s birthday, and Mrs. Joy did not disappoint! I told her how my mom can be very picky with dessert frostings (she doesn’t like anything that tastes like “fake” sugar) and she assured me that her ingredients are all fresh and that my mom would love them - and indeed she did!! I’m planning to come back very soon to try some more treats…they all look divine! ??

Phenomenal experience. The owner was truly warm and welcoming. The baked goods were very delicious and pricing was not bad for how great it all was. If you want a cinnamon roll the size of your head you have to come here!

Saw this bakery as I was walking through town and stopped in. It's a cute space and the although I did not eat in, staff was kind at the counter. Since it was my first time, it was recommended that I get the Cinnamon Rolls. Traveled well and was good heated up hours later which worked well because these rolls were huge! I recommend if you're in town to try the Cinnamon Roll or one of the other bakery items. A good find!
