Heading thru Madison Heights and decided to grab a BBQ sandwich and hushpuppies. It had been many years since my last stop at The Silver Pig and the bbq was just as good as I remembered. Hushpuppies were exactly the same with honey to dip them in. Great tasting lunch!! Plenty of parking right in front. The building is not the prettiest. Well worn but you should give it a try if in the area.
Jim has the best BBQ and he is happy to give indecisive guests, like me, a good recommendation! Great atmosphere to catch a conversation with friends. I visited last Friday and enjoyed hearing the guys next to me talk about tractors ... a good education! Old school and comfortable, and, best of all, consistently great food. His BBQ is great to serve a crowd, too!
I'm from Lynchburg, and get back there 3 or 4 times a year. I've always loved it and the red slaw. The pig tail hushpuppies are a must, they're crispy , you'll never get home with all of em, so depending on how many you're feeding, think of 2 bags. Pork BBQ is one of favorites, and Silver Pig never disappoints.i Always carry
