El Warike de Juan Diego, formerly Sabor a Barrio Restaurant Pollería, offers authentic and fresh Peruvian food. The lomo saltado and leche de Tigre are highly recommended. The food has been great all three occasions, and the chicken was tender with good chaufa. The kitchen was able to make a few substitutes to meet dietary needs. While the ambiance is not good and seating is limited, the service is top-notch, with attentive and accommodating waitresses. They offer high chairs and friendly staff for kids, with few side dishes like French fries, rice and beans. The traditional chicha drink made from scratch is a highlight. It is a bit pricey but worth it for the fresh and delicious food and great service.
