My favorite winery in Virginia (For the reds). Boldest flavors. Closest to mature tastes like old vine vineyards. I've been told RDV is comparable, but I'm not paying eleventy billion dollars for a thimble taste to find out.
I am not a wine lover, but my boyfriend is. We took an impromptu trip to this winery yesterday and let me tell you, as soon as I walked in the door it felt like home. Coziest and most personable winery/vineyard I have been to in northern Virginia. A lot of vineyards there are new (and many do have incredible venues and wines), but this one just stands out with its location and atmosphere. It is small, they do have signs that say no one under 21, and they are pricier than some other wineries close by — but again, the aesthetic and wines are so different and extraordinary that it’s worth it to me (but I’m not picky let alone a sommelier).
