This hasn't been my first visit to Tokyo Express. It's a pretty charming local eatery with some average food and good prices. My meal for this particular visit was hot, came quick, but wasn't overly flavorful. Broccoli was very crunchy. Carrots and rice were good, and the soba was great. Service was very nice!
Overall, it's a pretty easy place to get in and out of and is a nice oriental eatery in a region that doesn't have very many.

This place does not even deserve the one star rating I gave. I ordered 2 meals of teriyaki chicken. The rice was not fried rice like I was told. It was plain and had no flavor. They used breast meat rather than thigh meat like Most all Chinese restaurants i have been to in the past. I am a Chef and this was my first time here so when I told the woman at the register the food was bland she laughed. I said there was no sesame oil in the rice she responded we cannot use that in our fried rice because of all the allergies here. I said that isn't realistic. Secondly I said there were no eggs or vegetables in the SO CALLED fried rice. Again i was met with a laugh. I told her I did not like or eat my meal and asked for my 41.00 dollars back. She said it's not our fault you didn't like it. I was mortified. Like really? No refund, just a nasty smirk and another laugh in my face. I would never eat here again. And this woman should learn how to deal with customers. It is always the fault of the restaurant if I didn't like whay was served to me. She offered resolution. I have 35 years experience as a Chef and restaurants manager. She acted juvenile and accusatory. I have never seen such horrible customer service. . She was giving Snide comments and childish faces the entire time I stood in front of her. I should have known when the restaurant was empty I was headed into a trap. She blamed the elderly gentleman I had with me it was his fault he couldn't eat the chicken and not the fact that the chicken was dry. She went so far as to tell him it was probably his age thay kept him from being able to swallow the chicken. What an atrocious woman/manager. Just disgusting. We walked out with our food on the table.

It was a little warm inside the restaurant. But it was 96 outside. You order up front and then sit and your food is brought out to you. It was good and the waitress was really nice.

Actually had take out, but when I entered to pick up the guy at counter couldn't have been more polite and friendly. My order wasn't quiet ready and he offered me a small drink. The food is delicious and large quantities, enough for 2 on 1 plate. Try it out and Enjoy!

I was not very impressed with the food here. The carrots were not even fresh. The scallops were fresh though. The steak was tough. I just didn’t really enjoy the quality of food unfortunately 🫤. Friendly drive through service

Passing through martinsville and saw the good reviews and thought i would try it. It did not disappoint! Food was great, place was clean, and service was top notch! Highly recommend! I got the hibachi steak and chicken with zucchini and mushrooms. Comes with carrots and fried rice and yum sauce!

Last night we went here and my first thought was did I got to Yamatos? When I got home I realized they switched to plastic containers and honestly I love that! It’s been I awhile since I’ve had Tokyo and I plan on going back! The food is amazing! It’s the best it’s been in years. I remember going here a decade ago and it’s like they’ve gotten back to their roots. It’s well prepared, always fresh! I was stuffed well worth the cost. Also they were busy and the staff and young lady who took our order handled it so well! I appreciate a great business that has good food and great staff! I love this place you can’t go wrong eating here!
