“After a 20 minute wait in a long line the service was splendid. Ordered a blueberry baguel that came steamy with a crispy outside added some strawberry cream cheese and a pumpkin pie frappe which was delicious! This place is always super busy, but always so worth it!

“Love this place. We usually get a take out order, but have been served in the restaurant many times. It’s no frills. Kind of like a diner. I get the spinach calzone without ham. They have lasagna, Spaghetti, subs and pizza plus more. They do bring your food to the table after you order up front. It’s just yummy!!

So I agreed and got a simple pepperoni pizza and then drove 15 mins home. Only cost $11.99 plus tax for a 12" Pizza which is cheapest pizza I've ever purchased. I had to rewarm it which made me hesitant on the quality. I was totally wrong. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST PIZZA I HAVE EVER EATEN. First purchase for me was yesterday and today I went out and bought 2 more. Great dough, sauce, cheese the works. I will forever be a Hunt Brothers Pizza only..”

She takes pride in her work and assures that customers are well taken care of. Everyone looks happy to be there, and that makes me want to come back every time. “We were in Martinsville for shopping, and decided to get food. First off, they open at 4pm on Saturdays, but at 3:50pm the parking lot was already packed, that's a good sign. We decided against another spot and drove back to Captain Tom's. The staff was friendly, our waitress knew the menu backwards and forwards, anticipated our questions, and had answers and menu tweaks ready to make ordering quick. Everything came out at a reasonable time, was all hot and fresh, and most importantly taste amazing. The seafood was fried golden light tan, and not oily or greasy like a lot of places, almost like they actually change out their oil regularly, unlike many other franchise places I've been too. The fish and oysters were crispy, my catfish tacos were great, the side of rice tasted out of this world, and that in-house made cocktail sauce is some of the best I've ever had. I felt like the portion sizes were large for the price, in this day and age, the oysters and calamari would be $3-5 higher at many other places for that many. The side of oysters I got, was the same sizes some places have given me for an entrée, at entrée prices. Overall all we've had many bad experiences locally and remotely, with restaurants in Virginia, since covid. This was the best meal put we've had in years...Thank you.”

“My Mom and I visited Hugo's for the first time. The food was great. We ordered Hugo's hotdogs. Once we saw the photos, we couldn't resist. From the toasted bun to the homemade chili, to the all beef hot dog, amazing! Rhonda was our server, and so pleasant. We will be back to try other things on the menu.”

Vegetarian options: You can get a sub or wrap with no meat, just salad on the bread. They also offer salads.

Parking: Plenty of room up near the door. Convenient.

Kid-friendliness: Kids can pick exactly what they want. The pepperoni rollups are a good option for kids and a snack for adults.

“Busy location with a crowded parking lot that feels a bit risky to navigate. The staff is friendly, but I hope they get proper stirrers instead of handing out straws labeled 'NOT FOR USE IN HOT BEVERAGE' for my hot coffee. It would also be great if the staff had proper training to wipe off the cup edges before placing the lids, so the coffee doesn't drip on my pants while drinking. Overall, I enjoy working here since most people don't stay long, which allows me to choose my preferred spot.”
