“I tried Hylton’s wood-cooking grill for the first time yesterday, and I couldn't believe how great the food was. I have already placed my order for today. It was swamped because of the restaurant being featured on “Hometown Eats,” but the 40-minute wait was worth it, and I'm an impatient person. Call ahead and pick anything on the menu, and you will not be disappointed. The only thing I wish was that I knew of this restaurant before yesterday!”

“This is the place to go for a huge breakfast, Mega Breakfast. The pancakes themselves are a meal. They serve breakfast all day long. Food is very good. Large portions. Very reasonable. Staff is super nice and attentive. Off the beaten path, but we’ll worth going. We will be back!”

“I know it's weird to give a gas station 5 stars but it's hard to find a small convenient store with a decent grill like the ones I grew up on. They have all closed or at least shut down the grill. Growing up in Martinsville there were other options and I never had to go to Ridgeway for this but now that I live in NC, I stop here nearly every time I go back home. They have hotdogs (the old style with Jesse Jones type red weenies), burgers, salads and much more not to mention all the sides like fries, onion rings, and hush puppies. I've never had anything here I didn't like. Plenty of beverages to choose from but I prefer the Pepsi fountain unit. There is also a sitting area incase you decide to eat there and not in your car. The staff is always nice and accommodating. Growing up I remember getting three dogs for $.99. That's no longer the case but I still love those dogs! Stop in and give them a try the next time you're driving down 220 in Ridgeway.”

This happens a lot at this popular little place at lunch rush and I’ve been stuck waiting before myself. I know how inconvenient it is when you only have a half and hour for lunch.I signaled him to come join me if he wanted and he was appreciative and thanked me for offering on the way to a table just cleared off for him. I guess the only possibly unusual thing about it was that this older gentleman was black and I look a lot like General Lee ?Truth is I could give two hoots in hell what color a person is and, if I can help, I’m going to help. The fellow thanked me again as he was on his way out and I didn’t think anything of it until I got to the cash register and the proprietor told me that “that other fellow you offered a seat to paid your bill for you.”Now, If that doesn’t make you feel good, I don’t know what.Thank you, Sir ❤️”

“They catered my wedding The food was amazing. We ordered baked chicken and received two different flavors. We included mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, rolls, and salad. They added two homemade red velvet cakes, yams, and meatballs. It was past my expectations... Everything was ready, packed securely, and hot. The cakes were outstanding. There was so much food we were able to share with our church family the next day. They stayed in communication with us and made sure I was completely happy. My side salad was also very good and a decent size.Atmosphere: You get to watch aircraft take off and land while eating your meal, so it's hard to loose there. The inside was very clean and shared space with the FBO. Nothing fancy but it will suffice for a cute date or a quick and interesting meal with your wife.Service: Service was great and attentive.
