One of my favorite restaurants. I eat there about once/month and am never disappointed. The food is always good and a good variety. The dining room is always clean and the staff are always friendly and attentive. Try the shrimp and crab salad!

The Seafood Shack is a cozy spot with extremely friendly staff. The waitstaff is nice and answers questions, and someone actually listens to what customers order. The food is delicious, from scallops to lobster tail, everything is good. The crab cakes, hush puppies, broiled catch of the day, poke bowl, and special crab pie are highlights. The portions are generous, with some customers taking leftovers home, like the Oyster Po Boy loaded with oysters or the quesadilla with shrimp and crab. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Mathews area, worth a visit for a satisfying seafood meal. Fresh and freshly cooked to order, the service is awesome and fast even on busy weekends. The place is nicely decorated, working as both a fish market and restaurant, with a pretty nice menu. Customers highly recommend it for its great seafood, reasonable prices, and kind staff who know what they’re doing.
