Amazing food, service and ambience! We got a spot by the fireplace and we got our anniversary recognized with a small champagne and a sparkler, which was a wonderful detail! There are vegan, vegetarian and meat/seafood options galore. Definitely would like to go back sometime! Would highly recommend if you're visiting!

Where do I begin. This restaurant is one of the best I have been to. I don't cook much so I dine out a lot. And I'm picky. If I'm going to spend the money I want it to be a good experience all the way around. And that's what White Dog Bistro is!!! The food is absolutely some of the best I have had. The menu has something for everyone. The staff is very good. They are friendly, they know the menu, and they are always happy to make suggestions. And you cannot beat the atmosphere. It is a cozy historic home, that makes you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. There are fireplaces in each of the main dining areas, and the decor is of the period. Do yourself a favor and put this on your list to try!

This restaurant is excellent. They do everything right. We had a special dinner for 42 members of our local organization, and every phase of the event from initial planning through dessert and coffee was perfect. If you want true value for your experience, it's worth your time and effort to visit the White Dog in Mathews, Virginia. And BTW, I am pretty hard to please.

The whole family went, and there were some really surprising and interesting menu choices. However, super pricey with smallish portions and the execution of the dishes were lackluster at best. It could have and should have been an amazing meal, but to me it wasn't really worth it. ?
