I came in at opening. They first tried to force me to sit at the counter even though the restaurant was completely empty. Then they took me all the way to the back to a table with a crappie wooden bench. Mind you the restaurant was empty and there were nice padded booths to be had. The attitude of the staff feels like they could care less if you stay or go. Lucky they are so close to a resort and no other sit down breakfast spots close.

Anytime we're visiting this area Thunderbird Cafe is a must stop! The food and service are both always amazing. Cheyenne took such great care of us and was an absolute pleasure to talk to. She had us smiling and laughing for our anniversary , so happy we came in this morning 😊

Best breakfast food I’ve had in a while!! Scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection exactly as country style eggs should be. Everything was cooked beyond great, even the coffee was delicious! The staff were very friendly and kind to us. Cheyenne is training their new staff so well that I had no clue they were training until they said so, lol! Lovely place. Will be back on every ski trip!

Food was excellent. Had breakfast while there. Was a lot of options and the food was amazing. With the cold weather there was a draft in the building and while they had heaters it was still a bit cold. But the service was excellent and the food came out fast. It is a smaller place so be prepared to wait when busy. And booths are small so if you are bigger ask for a table.

Absolutely loved it! Was staying in Massanutten with family and ventured out here for breakfast one morning and it did not disappoint! Our waitress, Cheyenne, was awesome and the food was incredible.

This place is very popular. And I’m sure there are people who genuinely enjoy it. However, I feel it is also popular by necessity and convenience. There are not many other places close by, & it is at the foot of the Massanutten Ski Resort. We went early on a Sunday morning and were told 20 - 30 minutes wait. Granted we had 6 people so we needed one of the booths, but it took 50 minutes before we were seated. The wait area is only big enough for about 15 people, & then you are constantly shuffling around for people entering and leaving or going to the restroom. Most people waiting went to their cars because it was very cold outside and in, with the opening of doors. The service was reasonable, but they were too busy for good service. Food was prepared very quickly. Everyone said they enjoyed the food, but I wasn’t as impressed. The vegetarian burger bun was fried in butter & the tomatoes were not fresh. I also feel it was pricey everything considered. This is just my opinion of my experience, hopefully you will have a better time.
