I come to the D.C. area from Galveston, Texas once or twice a year to visit my son — but honestly, I wouldn’t be lying if I said Amoo’s Restaurant has become another big reason I come! The owner’s hospitality is on another level — he treats every customer like family. The food is absolutely delicious, full of authentic Persian flavors, and the service is outstanding. Everything about this place makes you feel welcome and appreciated. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would!
A hidden gem in the DMV. Staff and owner are friendly and hospitable. Chicken kabobs were very flavoral and juicy. The rice was tasty and fresh. Also enjoyed the pita bread and Shirazi salad. I am actually ordering from them again right now as we speak lol.

Food, a little below average
I haven’t left a review for a restaurant in ages. But this food was so good I had to. I’ll preface my review by saying it was my first time having Persian food but I’ve been wanting to try it for awhile. Tonight my family ordered saffron chicken, tahdig and Ghormeh sabzi. As well as salmon for my husband. I also ordered some mast mousir. It was SO GOOD. Everything tasted really fresh! The saffron chicken was well seasoned and not dry, the rice fluffy. The Ghormeh sabzi frickin delicious, so so good. Def adding this establishment to my regular take out rotation; and I might actually have to go sit and eat and have it fresh from the kitchen.
Order kobideh Taste nothing like it like it was fake rice was also overcooked place need some cleaning surrounding area look a dump will not go back for sure
Ghormeh Sabzi was excellent. Was there for lunch.

Came here for dinner after a meeting in Tyson's Corner. My wife had enjoyed lunch here a couple of times before.
The food was delicious. Persian food is a favorite despite not cooking it much at home.
You can't go wrong with the starters, especially eggplant or hummus based. The lamb kabobs are so well prepared. Incredibly tender meat with creative spices. The rice is flavorful.
For dessert we had saffron ice cream with rose water. While we enjoyed it, you have to like rose water because it is pronounced.
There isn't coffee but the Persian style tea is a wonderful end to the meal.
And the bottle of wine on the table is actually quite tasty and pairs well with the savory dishes.
Very satisfying meal, we will return.
We were there at 7:15 on a Thursday night and the empty seats in the photos quickly filled up. You will need reservations for a weekend.
The best food, most authentic and this is coming from a Persian who cooks well. A little place with heavenly food and atmosphere. If you wanna experience a little Iran away from home you must come to this place.
I am a huge fan of middle eastern cuisine and Amoo's is my favorite Persian restaurant in Northern Virginia. It is located in an unassuming small retail center on Old Dominion Drive and would be easy to overlook for the uninitiated but I seek it out often when in McLean with family or friends. The restaurant is clean; the staff is accommodating; and the food is both delicious and moderately priced. The restaurant serves most dishes with a lightly saffron seasoned rice with grilled tomatoes or other vegetables. We particularly like their lamb dishes of many varieties, the Shiraz salad with its light lemony dressing and the homemade saffron and pistachio ice cream which is absolutely heavenly.
Very authentic persian food in the DMV.
Amoo Masood is the best.
