Divan Restaurant of McLean

Service was excellent, food was flavorful and our server Raim and the hostess (forgot her name but she was so kind!) went out of their way to make my husband’s birthday special…even after they had closed for the night. Definitely a hidden gem in an unassuming location.

I had to take the time and give this restaurant a review. The staff is so kind and welcoming. The food was so delicious, we ordered a little bit of everything and it was all amazing. The drinks were so good and super cute. The manager, David, was so funny and friendly. I’ll definitely be back, thank you for everything! Highly recommend.

I don’t write reviews often but I had to for this one.
Last week I was craving Iranian cuisine and feeling nostalgic for some of my favorite go to Persian meals.
The authentic Persian flavors reminded me of my family’s cooking.
I was so satisfied and loved the joojeh kabob, noon barbari and mastokhiar. The fesenjan is also amazing. The meals were delicious.
The service was a relaxed and comforting experience. The staff was friendly and the manager David was very kind and welcoming.
I’m glad I finally found a place to enjoy my favorite pastime meals. 😊

We had two great experiences here in the past, but unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

On one Sunday, we arrived without reservations, and the manager told us he couldn’t seat us—even though the restaurant was mostly empty (as it has been during our previous visits). So, we left.

This past Sunday, we made dinner reservation and returned. Once again, the restaurant was mostly empty, and interestingly, the same manager didn’t even ask if we had a reservation—and he was ready to take us to our table.

The food this time was disappointing. The rice and other ingredients were noticeably low quality. Honestly couldn’t wait to leave!

The bright spot has always been the wait staff. They’re consistently friendly, helpful, and far more hospitable than the manager.

The food is not as tasty as other persian restaurants, the koobideh and joojeh kabob were both less tasty than even some chain place like Moby Dick. The worst part is the grumpy manager who has zero manners and customer service.

Absolutely unacceptable. The place was filthy — there were at least 100 flies swarming around us inside the restaurant! The staff did nothing except shrug and apologize, claiming the flies come in through the big windows during this season and there’s nothing they can do. Yet there were flies even in the bathrooms, which are nowhere near the windows — disgusting!

I can’t believe I actually ate food there. We even asked for a Coke to help lure the flies away and they had the nerve to charge us for it — unbelievable.

To make it worse, the food was mediocre at best, the service was terrible, and they charged us $310 for just four dishes. Hands down the worst dining experience I’ve had in years.

Save yourself the headache — I strongly recommend you stay away from this place. Never going back.

Chicken kabobs moist and delicious. Shrimp appetizer also good. Maybe too much rice but great leftovers.

The variety, food and service was very good. Unfortunately, it was very loud - hard to carry on a conversation without raising your voice.

The food and service was spectacular! We celebrated several family members' birthdays and the staff made a special presentation of the desserts. Highly recommend it.

I can't say enough great things about this wonderful neighborood find. The food is consistently good. Each time I visit and try a new dish, it's done with incredible technique and the flavors are always spot on. The Sea bass, Lamb Chops, Roasted Salmon and Chicken are all delicious. If you ever want a great night out, but not quite sure where you want to go, add Divan to your "Go-To" list. Definitely in my top 5 for the DMV.

The food at Divan is excellent -- very tasty and well-seasoned but not overly spicy. The service was outstanding. As an example, after being told initially that the kitchen was out of the dish that my husband had ordered, the waiter returned to say the kitchen had all the ingredients so they would make it anyway. It started to rain very hard as we were finishing our meal, and the staff thoughtfully provided us with an umbrella to us to use while we fetched the car.

We were a group of 4 at lunch time. Lovely atmosphere and good food with attentive service. I'd definitely return.

We loved it. Great service. The food took a while to get to us but once it did, it was great. Our server was excellent and very accommodating.
