First time at this store. I wanted to buy Lebanese food since I’m Lebanese. Went there the front guy was very nice and helpful. I started picking up a dozen of each pies and other stuff suddenly the lady owner came out from the kitchen telling me that the guy is very busy. She sounded very mean as if I’m just wasting his time even though I bought $190 worth of food. This was my first visit and the last for sure. After I left I even regretted buying from her. I should have left everything on the counter. Never again.

Our family has been shopping here now across generations and their delicious offerings gave me and my children a love of Lebanese food. You can’t go wrong here. It is a great choice for small nibbles for a party of people who like different foods. The cabbage rolls, eggplant salad, lentils with LOTS of caramelized onions and their small savory pastries are our favorites. Don’t leave without the garlic sauce.

Rude owner! We were looking for a birthday gift for a relative who has allergies to certain ingredients, so I was reading the labels of products we thought he might like to receive. The owner kept starting with a displeased face as if we were messing up with the way she had arranged everything even though I placed everything back exactly the way it was when I found it. She then came up to me when I was looking at baklavas and almost snapped at me, saying she had the same items by the counter and if I wanted to look, I needed to go to the counter. Apparently, even looking at baklava in a glass-covered stand is prohibited.She irritated me so much that we just walked out of the store and I saw her shaking her head in anger, going around the store and “fixing” everything where we were standing.Additionally, the store is called “gourmet basket.” There were no baskets of anything, just regular products like dates, pastries, ordinary groceries.I do not recommend this place. The owner’s behaviour is bizarre and it’s not a gourmet place. It’s a grocery store with a small amount of products.

I walked up to the counter and placed an order, I'm female. The staff member behind the counter started getting it ready. Then a male customer walked up, cut in front of me, and started requesting a huge order. And the staff dropped everything they were doing for a female customer for a male customer immediately. I thought I was in Egypt. Ladies, don't spend your money here.

Been buying food and ordering for the past 20 years and Nabila the owner, has been amazingly consistent and superb with the food and the products. Since moving to Florida in 2017 I make it a point to stop in whenever I visit Virginia as it is the best Lebanese food ever. The spinash pies, meat pies, cheese pies etc...are still the best tasting. One thing that I find truly great: Nabila's tact and patience with some of the clientele is unparalleled. I think if I were the owner, some of the clientele would...well, let's keep it positive.
