I loved the spicy jalapeno tsukemen. Full of flavor and so balanced.
The sides were also good,

Came to satisfy my craving for ramen. Ordered the Shio ramen, tasted sweet and unlike the Shio ramen I had at Santouka branches outside USA. Overall, it was a good dining experience, staff were attentive and friendly.

Solid ramen, my favorite is the Shoyu Bowl. The broth is rich, flavorful and the noodles are cooked to perfection.

The DC area is full of mediocre ramen joints, but this place gets it right. The broth is nicely complex, the noodles have good texture, and the restaurant sources their produce from a local Japanese-owned farm. It's exactly how ramen should be. The spicy miso ramen and the goma ramen are both excellent. The chashu slices are extremely tender and melt-in-your-mouth, another nice touch.

This was one of the first times I wasn’t able to finish my ramen because it was just so average and unappealing. The only redeeming item on the menu was the karaage which has been the best karaage in the DMV. The presentation could’ve been better of the ramen and for the price there are definitely better ramen restaurants that don’t taste like ramen you can get at a food court.

Oh man let me tell you about some of the best takoyaki I have had since living in Okinawa!!! They nailed the spicy miso ramen too. Just stop and look at those photos. I ate yaki ball and then had my coworker try it and he was surprised!

The fact that I had to add a little more spice was at first upsetting but… they had chili oil at the table and chili peppers. So I just kept adding a little more until I felt it was warm enough I wouldn’t need a sweater in the 30 degree weather outside. Perfect!

The other thing is it didn’t at all take away from the flavor.

It was really place too. Very clean and easy to see why they have such a good rating!

They also don’t add the egg to your bowl so don’t let that photo confuse you. That was at the point I realized this place was good that I took the photo. Had no intent on rating this meal.

So good!!!

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka is by far our favorite ramen spot in Northern Virginia. Obviously nothing beats having ramen in Japan, however, having the noodles and broth here came pretty close.

We particularly love getting their ramen combo as you can pair your noodles with a small side, a drink, and an appetizer. Nothing beats that especially when you're quite famished.

Another standout of this place is the fact that you get to choose the size of your ramen bowl: small, regular, or large. I usually go with small for my wife and regular for myself and find that it fills us up pretty well.

Look no further when seeking out delicious Japanese ramen.

Very tasty apps! Ramen is hot and savory. The noddles are house made and have a nice snap to it. Great to go solo or date night. I'm definitely coming back

The ice cold beer was a great start to dinner and the seasonal tan tan men was just the right balance of creamy and spicy! All the servers were also very friendly and kind.

I can't say enough good things about this place. In my humble opinion it's the most authentic ramen in the DMV. They mix it up by adding some less common Japanese dishes. Oh and did I mention that the prices are extremely low compared to other restaurants in the area. The service is outstanding and the kitchen moves quickly. I saw them easily cycle through dozens and dozens of patrons within the hour we were there. Impressive I hope they never change!

An amazing option for ramen, maybe top 3 in the Northern Virginia area from what I've had.

The first thing that stood out was how knowledgeable the staff are. I asked about one of the broth options and our waiter explained the broad and subtle differences between them all. I've had ramen before but it was cool having it explained so in depth.

I got the miso and my friend got the spicy tan-tan special. Both were great and you could really see the differences in the broths. I like how you can order between 3 sizes (see pictures) rather than a fixed size and having to all for extra broth or noodles. The regular is probably in line with what most places serve and it makes for a filling meal.

Shoutout the them for carrying Hokkaido Brewing beers, the white peach and plum ales were so fricking good. The authentic Japanese green tea was also very good, earthy and aromatic.

The interior is clean and pretty basic, nothing eye catching aside from the ramen itself. Definitely worth stopping by for a bowl.

Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian ramen option

Pretty decent place for Americanised Ramen in the Tyson area. Prices are not good value in my opinion at 23 dollars for the small lunch set I had. (They are average for the area though). Service was great and the atmosphere was nice in the restaurant.
